Boise State denied by Mountain West for now

I'm kind of shocked by this. I figured it was a no brained to invite them.... Did they give a reason why they were denied?

I still think the Boise State invite they made was in preparation for what they felt was going to be the Big 12 taking TCU to make up for a lost team

yeah though, they're going to be the one's to wait. Everyone knows that whoever makes the first move is going to set a whole bunch loose....and I think most (definitely the Mountain West) don't want to be the ones to make the move that breaks this dam open

They have to get bryce browns approval before they anywhere....Kansas is moving into the SEC according to BB

does basketball have any effect on this cause kansas is kind of a big deal in basketball...

they discussed that on Outside the Lines Thursday when talking about Kansas's situation

They kinda came to the agreement that - while KU does bring in a whole lot of basketball money - it really doesn't reach as much of a profit as football money does, and that the latter was part of the factor driving the expansions

Kansas is one of the few exceptions where basketball dollars can rival other schools football dollars. Up there with Kentucky, Syracuse, etc. etc.

Smart move by MWC. I doubt anybody else will take Boise, and they will be there whenever the MWC wants them. They could still get KU, KSU and Colorado. It seems to me conference alignment is not so much of a major factor these days in basketball.

If the B12 gets raided, i think the MWC will pick up the leftovers KU, KSU and Baylor. With the addition of the 3 schools, that will give the conference 12 teams which means championship game on a network like versus or the MTN(both networks carry regular season games already).

One thing the B12 can do if Mizzou and Neb leave is replace them with old SWC memebers(TCU, SMU or Houston) If this senario happens than the MWC will invite BSU to replace TCU. Also C-USA will probably invite Sun Belt teams to replace SMU and Houston(Troy and MTSU would be my guess).

I think maybe the reverse on the first part. The leftover big 12 raids the MWC (and maybe CUSA). Seems the big 12 name gives them more at least initial options and deals than being under the mountain west name

I think the big12 will lose their AQ status and it will be given given to the MWC, that is my reasoning for KU,KSU, ISU and Baylor going to the MWC

agree to disagree.

the big 12s the one though that already has the huge backing (part financially) till its deals expire, it will become a MWC conference in body yes, but i think it will go under the Big 12 moniker
