Guys: A dilemma...I was born in Tennessee but I have been raised in Kentucky and now live in Kentucky only about 2 miles from the Tennessee border. Growing up, I have always loved Kentucky and Louisville but strongly DIS-LIKED Tennessee...I have no idea why. Anyway, as I have grown up and I am now 29, I wonder if there is a balance between my Kentucky upbringing and my native Tennessee past? Is there room to be both a Kentuckian and Tennessean...or to like UK and UT? I also wonder if you can answer me this, because this is important to me...are the UT mens basketball players good guys? or jerks? I was just wondering if someone could give me an honest take on this. Thanks,
bwsimpson

My advice would be to be a fan of Kentucky basketball and UT football. No conflict of interest in either sport.

I cannot endorse being a fan of Florida in ANY sport.

BW, I believe that you should give up on UK and come over to the bright orange side.

It's possible to like both UK and UT until you find yourself in an environment that forces you to choose. For example, it's difficult to go back and forth from blue to orange in Lexington. With all due respect to LIO, I don't like it when I come across people who root for UK in basketball and UT in football. Then, you'd be wearing orange throughout the Fall before turning blue for the Winter. It took me a while, but I realized the rivalry is more fun if you favor one color over the other year-round.

AMEN! Nothing worse than a fan who routinely breaks their ankles jumping on and off the bandwagon.

Guys:
Thanks for the warm welcome. How are the UT hoop players? I mean are they nice guys or thugs or jerks or what? Just wondering what your opinion is.

No offense to anyone, but I can't imagine rooting for the Mildcats. That's just completely wrong. Where I grew up, your loyalty can only swing one way. I BLEED BIG ORANGE!!!!! GO VOLS!!!!! Down with the Mildcats!!

I can see my opinions mean absolutely nothing on here.

:moon2:

That's definitely not true. Your good opinions mean a lot and your opinions that are not quite as good are, well, overlooked. Sorry... :p

I can relate. I was born in Louisville, KY. I grew up a huge fan of Louisville basketball and always disliked UK. We later moved to South Florida. That helped fuel my dislike for UF and most certainly Miami. Thirteen years ago, while I was in highschool, we moved to Nashville. I went to college at UT and have been a fan since moving here. I kinda have the best of both worlds because I get to dislike UK and never really have to worry about Louisville and Tennessee crossing paths. They have recently in basketball, which sucked, but overall no major scuffs.
