It really is sad that it has to come to this. This dispute is getting old. The only way to settle it IMO is for Obama to make the records public, let the rule of law decide the issue once and for all, as long as he delays the proceedings against him the more cases like this we have. Get it over with so the country can move on.....one way or the other.

I agree that this is over the top.

When did he release his Birth Certificate? The problem so many have with the form he released is that it does nothing to show where he was born. His mother could have walked into the office and asked for this document with little or no paperwork and received it.

This is a guy who doesn't want to be deployed using whatever he can to avoid it. His claim is ridiculous.

I recall that others did this under the guise that Iraq was an "illegal war" - using nonsense that left loonies concocted. Their claims were ridiculous.

Personally i didn't think there was anything to this. . . until obama continued to not put it to rest. . something that could hvae been done VERY easily.

This is where I stand on the issue. Either Obama is being very stubborn (sealing almost all public records of himself) or he has something to hide.

I do not agree with what this guy is doing, I don't think I would be so quick to say he is trying to dodge his duty, the man looks like he has respectable service record.

This is what is so aggravating. He DID release the birth certificate back during the campaign in 2008. Its just that there are some wacky conspiracy theorists who think its a fake. They have no proof, mind you, but obviously from time to time get people to buy into their insanity.

At any rate, for the record, you both are just dead wrong. He released it a long time ago.

The original has been examined by a couple of reputable outfits, including most notably the director of Hawaii's Department of Health, who has verified its authenticity.

Now, if by "reputable" you mean some right wing nutjob who will find it fake, even if he was in the room with Obama when he was born, then what can I say.

I think the issue for the "birthers" is that they claim there is a difference between COLB and a BC. Is there a real difference between the two?

The kid who has agreed to be the representative for what is at least the third itteration of this lawsuit is probably some dumb 20 year old who has largely been talked into it. The lawyer, who continues to press this, is the one who I find most irritating.
