Bowde v. Paterno, and a nugget re Kiffin

Really reaching there bringing Kiffin in to his article, isn't he? I find it hard to believe anyone outside of Americas wang, or PA, really care all that much about Paterno/Bowden, or who ends up with more wins. They're nothing more than faces for their schools... Hell, Joe-Pa didn't even go to the locker room at half time last season. Granted he had a busted up knee, but the wheel carts couldve driven him down from the press box.

and rightfully so. That game has all the implications of an Ole Miss v Miss. St. affair.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!

And you are one of my favorite posters on VN???!!! I'm offended......:cray:

You have to be kidding me about that. Both have been down for a few years...but FSU will be very good this year and back to the glory days soon!

You can not compare either one of those teams to MSU or Ole Miss...in any way.....

neither of them could beat Ole Miss right now, but I probably was going a bit strong on the hyperbole.

How about UT - Vandy?

A BIT strong??? ALOT strong.:)

Ole Miss "should" be good this year...but they are alot like Kansas, Missouri, Tx Tech last year or two.....very good, but not going to maintain the momentum for very long........Just like UT will not be down for very long!

FSU/Miami are pillers of college football.......and will continue to be. You know that:yes:

I went to a FSU-Miami game a few years ago that was great-but both programs are afterthoughts now. My wife graduated from FSU and even she would not argue this point. Bobby should have hung it up years ago and I find the fact that president Weatherall is arguing the loss of games but doesn't seem to care about the cheating-disgusting. FSU under president TK has become a shell of its former self and an embarrassment to the Florida university system.

sorry...u r wrong!
an afterthought? What is UT then? more of an afterthought. 2 losing seasons in 4 yrs. FSU has not had a losing season since Bobby's 1st year in 75??? or 76???

it's ok to admit FSU and Miami are down programs. FSU had their little run in the basketball conf until other schools decided to take football seriously. FSU-UM is just not a national game anymore. It attracts regional interest at best, kinda like UK-UL

Both programs will be back......very soon. FSU before UM...Tubberville will be UM's next coach.

UT is an afterthought at the moment, the only reason it is getting more pub is because of CLK and the larger fan. FSU is not going to be any good in the near future because Bobby is too selfish to leave and Jimbo isn't nearly as good as his reputation. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt because you're a fan but that's the story from players and others who have been in the program.

FSU's problem is the current sanction situation plus the consequent Bowden refusing to turn over complete control to someone new.

Miami will be back. But I will always have a hard time with that program because of the fact that at any one of their games maybe half the people wearing 'canes gear went there for even a day.

MU has lost some talent this year but I dont see them being the door mat the prognosticators perceive them to be. I see them competing for the North title.

Wow that was jacked up quoting

Probably less than a third. But, what does that matter?

Thats interesting. I don't see FSU really coming back until Bowden steps down and you run some new blood through that program. Until he is gone, its 7-9 win seasons and second tier bowl games with the UK's of the world.

Miami I DO see making it back to the top. Shannon has some good players in there, and alot of people are putting them at 8-9 wins THIS season. There first 4 games are brutal on the schedule, but if they get through them there is a chance. If this happens and shannon improves upon it next year, you will not see Tubberville at Miama.

HOWEVER, should Shannon tank this season, the Tubberville idea is one that interest me. That could be a good relationship, if of course they give him time.

That is bad, I remember back in the day(which isn't too long ago for me) that used to be the game to watch that weekend when it came on....Just like FSU and UF used to be

no hurt feelings.......but when you finish in the top 3 for 14 yrs(or so) in a row, a few "down" years with 7-9 wins is bound to happen. Bobby does need to step aside. I'm not sure Fisher is the answer. I think Mark Richt will be their next Coach.....

I'm pretty sure FSU is contractually obligated to make JF their next head coach.

Also, FSU dominated the ACC until they brought in some teams that could field a football program. They are an after thought in their own division of the conference now.
