First off, I 'd like to thank those of you who kindly welcomed Texas A&M in to the conference of champions. Several posters here and elsewhere have been exceptionally nice and offered a lot of positive feedback in regards to this transition. Some might have taken the time to check out or site to do so, which speaks volumes to the passion for college football amongst this fan base.
Most Bowl games offer little to the overall landscape of NCAA football IMO. Frankly, there are too many and most are meaningless when you come right down to it. You could argue a few, but in the grand scheme of things, its a celebration for the players and fans, and a few extra weeks of practice for the coaches. Oh, and $.
With that being said, it was imperative that the Ags destroy Stoops on Friday night and Sumlin didn't disappoint. Why? Because although collectively "we" had signed the divorce papers, some of the Big12 had yet to do so. Oh they might have claimed they "hadn't seen much of A&M", or "we're not really looking at what they're doing".
To those comments I ask this, DO YOU SEE US NOW? To use a silly Internet meme, "All your recruits are belongs to us".
I've trolled a bit over the past 48 hours and the message is pretty clear, the exes have realized its done. And I'm not just talking about Austin, I'm talking everywhere. Glad they got the message.
Now we're left with the off season and for some, it'll be spent reminiscing about Heismans, beating BAMA, not losing a road game, new coach that can walk on water, Scooby Doo costumes, Cotton Bowl beat downs, ect ect the list goes on.
As for me? Well, I guess I'll do what I normally do and turn my attention towards recruiting and baseball. We'll await the spring game a little more feverishly, and hope like hell that JFF stops posting pics of his alter ego, "Johnny Nightlife".
Lastly I'll say its been real fun and its going to only get better here in the SEC. No one told us any rules about not being allowed to come in to the West and do what we did. No one mentioned we're not supposed to beat who we beat. No one said that a red shirt freshman was not to be this good. If they did, I'm not sure Sumlin and co. got that email. For those of you that subscribe to that line of thinking, try this email address next time:

Sure I'm thumping my chest this morning, but you know what? Y'all would too.
Besides, not everyone is supposed to like me here to begin with.
Still love the Vols, still love this place, and still love the few friends I have here. I appreciate the back and forth and wish Tennessee a swift rise back to the top of the East. Hopefully, we'll see you in Atlanta very soon.
Gig em.
