Bowl Game

UT fans would "travel" well to Memphis, Nashvill, ATL, or Orlando/Tampa/Jax.

I don't see UT selling a lot of tickets to B'ham or Shreveport. Afterall, UT returned several thousand tickets to Bama.

With the lack of success I don't foresee a major type bowl taking us because I don't see alot of people going. Now, maybe something in-state but the thing about that is they want fans who will be traveling. If it's in Nashville fans will come but wont stay and that affects the large influx of dollars thus impacting the selection!

The bowls of that level won't be full of options of teams who will bring a lot of fans from out of state. We'll probably not have a chance to get picked up by the Music City Bowl unless we win out, because a team with 8 or 9 wins will probably be on the table when they pick. So, a 6-6 finish probably puts us in the Liberty Bowl.

This weekend has a very interesting game (vandy vs florida). If vandy wins the game, they will likely go to a bowl and FL will miss out on a bowl because their remaining schedule will be too tough. If florida wins, and assuming we beat vandy, vandy will not make it to a bowl this year. Pick your poison... win win as long as we beat vandy.

Candy has KY and Wake besides TN and FL, they can afford to lose two more games and still go bowling.

Pretty sure the tickets returned to Bama were because of the beatdown we likely were going to get and fans likely didn't want to have to put up with Bama fans.

Totally different scenario going down to Birmingham to play a Conference USA team.

Would a win over Auburn change the scenario at all? Like if the vols go 7-5 versus 6-6, does it make a difference?

(Burley is another name for tobacco...don't think we could name a bowl game in honor of tobacco these days.)

C'mon MAN! :clapping: You are form NC. You know that Burley is a type of tobacci. (I spent time cutting that crap in Kentucky as a kid, and if ya'll knew how much of it gets whizzed on when we were hanging it in the barn, you'd never smoke again) :)

No. no difference. Having a .583 record is no better than a .500 record.

Really?

The only thing that will keep our fans from going to a bowl game is excessive premiums courtesy of obozocare federally licensed scam.

I think that is more true than many care to admit.

But hey, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"

If we go 6-6, we'll be back in Nashville for the Music City Bowl IMO. 7-5 and I'm thinking Gator or possibly Chick-Fil-A.

Everyone is assuming we will win 2 of next 3 games to be 6 & 6. Whos to say we even get an invitation?

You don't know much about the way the bowl system operates, do you? Every 6-6 SEC team will be in a bowl now and into the foreseeable future.

I don't care if we get the Obamadon'tcare.com bowl, I just want this team to go to one. Needs the extra practice and exposure.

Go Vols!
