Last UT bowl-less year was 1988. ESPN announcers said you had third longest active streak going.

I don't know. Maybe it is better to have lost so that the decks can be cleared and you can start a new streak next year.

I never beleive in rationalizing losing as a positive. Last time i checked we had players suiting up busting their balls trying to win today.

My law firm partner went up to the game (his daughter goes there). He called afterwards and told me that there was a noticeable difference in the attitude and demanor of the Vandy players versus the UT players. Said overall the Vandy sidelines were much more animated and enthused.

i can beleive that. All the adversity took its toll. I am glad to see them fight to the end regardless. Would rather keep the streak intact.

Yes, came down to last second. Not like the team just laid down after Vandy went ahead.
