According to the Tennessean, we may have slipped in Bowl favor.

"Assuming, however, that only the SEC champion goes to the BCS, that could put the SEC Championship game loser plus two other teams with better records in front of Tennessee — meaning spots in the Capital One, Cotton and Outback bowls all could be gobbled up.
Also, the Chick-fil-a Bowl has had Tennessee two of the last four years and might be hesitant to bring the Vols back for a third time in five years."

Where do we see us?

What about the "Who Cares Bowl", as bad as we have been playing of late.Still unable to close the deal on upper ranked teams.

the smartest thing Lou Holtz ever did was keep SC from going to a bowl game the year he felt that they didn't deserve to go to one.

I guess that kind of principled stance won't happen in the face of the dollar payout that a Bowl appearance brings.

As much as I would support that decision, the only reason SC got away with it is because they wrapped it in the guise of self-administered discipline due to the Clemson brawl. I think last year someone pointed out on here that the SEC requires member schools to accept Bowl bids due to the shared revenue.
