Just wondering if anybody can tell me if my former high school Boyd-Buchanan out of Chattanooga won the state yesterday or loss? I live in Miami and can't find anything on the state playoff games in Cookville.
I watched the game on TV (I'm a BBS alum too). Boyd couldn't stop Trousdale's triple option offense. I believe Trousdale's RB Seay had over 130 yards rushing. Also, I think Trousdale held Boyd under 100 total yards for the game. Boyd never could get its running game going, and that was the difference. But considering what BBS football used to be years ago, the fact that they made the state title game 4 times this decade is pretty incredible.
Wow, oh we'll I graduated from BBS in 88' and we were so so in football nothing like they are today. We were strong in basketball, baseball and girls softball when I went there. My dad tells me BBS has a good RB I think his last name is Beasley. Does he have any offers anywhere that you know of?
Want to hear how much things have changed since then? Football won a state championship in '03, and also reached the state finals 3 other times this decade. They've made the playoffs 12 straight years. They also are 7-3 vs. South Pittsburg this decade.
Volleyball team won the state championship this year after being state runner-up last year.
Basketball hasn't done anything in several years. The last time they even had a decent team was my freshman year in '02-'03.
Softball was still a power until recently. They were state runner-up in 03, 04, and 05, losing to the same team all 3 years.
Also had a girls' tennis player win back-to-back individual state titles last 2 years.
Boys soccer team went to the state semifinals 2 years ago.
Wow, that's awesome. I guess they are getting better athlete's now and probably giving some scholarships away for tuition. Yes, things have changed for the better since I went there.
They can't give athletic scholarships because they're Division I (although everybody Boyd beats likes to argue that Boyd illegally recruits LOL).
I don't know who's recruiting Beasley but I'm sure he will play college ball somewhere. Probably a D-2 prospect IMO. I know that UTC has offered one of Boyd's linemen though.
One of my friends (Vinnie Jordan) might be one of the linemen yall were refferring to, hes gotten some letters from SCe and TN along with Vandy I think. I got to go to the linemen comp. at UT and the coaches were digging him, so you might see him playing for TN one day
