I'm not sure if our guard play is the biggest issue. I'm more worried about what happens when Tobias is on the bench.

BTW, I've seen many discrepancies about Scotty's position on the team next year, and no one has offered to clear them up whenever I've asked. But, I got word from Scotty, himself, that he will be a 2 guard next season; he's not moving to 3.

what are the responsibilities of a 2 guard as opposed to a three? i'm completely ignorant about basketball coaching

we have a good blend of youth and experience at the guard position. i don't know what he's talking about with the guards !!! if this team comes together as one and tobias is as advertised, and scotty will be a real leader and SCORER we will be back in the elite eight at least !!!! :rock::dance2: :clapping: :salute:

The 2 guard is almost always the shooting guard, meaning his primary responsibility is to get open and shoot the ball. A perfect example is Chris Lofton. Scotty has played the 2 here because JP was our 3 guard/forward (or "wing", or small forward). JP's game was pretty stylistic of the wing : more dribbling, slashing, attacking the basket. But a more conventional wing would probably take more jump shots and 3s than JP did. Since JP is gone, people have speculated that Scotty would move to the 3 because he has the size for it, and we all know we want him to dribble and attack more effectively than he has, so it made sense. He also went to the Paul Pierce and LeBron James camps this summer, both of which are position-specific camps for SFs. But yeah, I finally just asked him on Facebook and he said he's playing the 2 next season. So now there should be no discrepancy concerning the lineup. It will be:

Hopson
Tatum
Harris
Williams

I don't think he's saying our guard play WILL be the problem, I believe he's saying that COULD be our problem
