So UCONN gets another home floor ride to the final four. That is total BS. They could at least make them leave the state for the third round.

No one complained when the Lady Vols were getting the advantage of home court because of their regular season play. The system is what it is. Until fan support justifies neutral forums, a team is going to be rewarded for their regular season excellence. Let's hope teams on UCONN's schedule can up their game enough to knock them out of the favored position!

I don't think he is talking about the first two rounds. He is talking about UConn playing in Bridgeport, Connecticut in the Regional Finals. I believe they played there this past year as well. I don't keep up with women's basketball as much as other sports, but I don't recall the Lady Vols getting that kind of an advantage. They played the Final Four in Nashville a couple of years ago but didn't get there. Lexington would probably be the closest arena for a Regional Final for the Lady Vols, but you still have to be good enough to take advantage of it.

I was. Bridgeport is basically another home court for them. Heck at least send them to Boston or Madison Square Garden.

We could be seeded anywhere from 1-7 at this point - until the LVs show some consistency, who knows what the right number is? I wish them all a great heart and love for the game!

Going by that we could be playing Syracuse again next season in the 2nd round of the tourney. Can you say revenge?

Two issues:

1) Attendance has been so crappy at most of those sites that keeping it in close proximity to UConn at least assures some attendance for a team that that has been unmatched in the last decade.

2) Lack of available other venues. Most of the venues in the Boston-Washington corridor are going to bid on the mens tournament if at all possible. Given the time and work that goes into preparing a bid and the timing of the bid proposals it isn't as easy as saying we'll we didn't get the mens tournament, lets just bid on the womens.

Considering its women's basketball. Buffalo. Syracuse. Boston College. UMASS. There are a number of college arenas in the northeast but outside of Connecticut that would allow there fans to be close but not down the street. But that being said. I hope to see UCONN in the ACC soon. Even if in just woman's basketball.

Actually the 2015 regional for UConn was in Albany NY. And the 2014 regional was scheduled for Trenton NJ until NJ passed a gambling bill and the NCAA needed an alternative site at the last minute and Bridgeport bid for it.

In 2 of Tennessee's championship seasons they played the regionals not only in Tennessee but on their home court.

In 1987 the LV's played their regional games in Knoxville

In 1991 the LV's played their regional games in Knoxville

I agree that regionals should be on neutral courts but try and find them. Sites aren't going to open their doors unless they can be assured of attendance.

And UConn has played very few games in Bridgeport over the years. They have played more at MSG.

Again, I agree that it would be fairer to hold regionals at neutral sites, however:

UMass and Boston are essentially no further than Bridgeport to Storrs.

Syracuse draws about 500 to their home games.

Buffalo? Do they even have an arena?

I hope you are right, however, a lot is based upon UCONN's football program which is very weak. ND WBB is in the ACC for two reasons, their football team agreeing to play 5 or 6 football games against ACC teams and their men's basketball team. Both UCONN BB programs are a draw, however, their football program, though it stinks, can't draw flies.

You will get your with on UConn to the ACC. Your problem is that once the Big Ten takes the guts out of it and the remainders go to the Big 12 and SEC you will be left with a glorified AAC. What am I talking about exactly? Check out the news that broke yesterday on the first part of the new Big Ten deal with FOX. Complete game changer that will likely put each Big Ten school at $40-$50 million per year when you combine that with yearly BTN distributions and the second part of the Tier 1 and 2 which will be bid later this year.
