He didn't score high enough on his standardized test so he will play professional ball overseas next year.

But the elite players will probably take a stab at Europe, get paid, and skip the sham that is college basketball.

No he is saying that players will go play for a year in Europe and make over $100,000 rather than playing a year at prepschool if they dont have the grades or getting one year of school in return. Chose one 100,000 and an NBA career or one year of school and an NBA career

Is now going to Europe it looks like. For all college basketball fans this is awful news.Will a trend now begin? I bet more of this will follow through the next couple of years. I'll now drop Arizona from my top 25 in my preseason standings. It must be sickening to be a Wildcat fan right about now

It sucks for everyone in Arizona except for Nic Wise. Who's earned his due to showcase his talent at the collegiate level.

I don't believe he qualified academically. It was either Europe or rec leagues. Might as well make $2-300K waiting out a year.

Downside:His flaws will be seriously exposed which would hurt his draft stock. It'll be interesting to see how this all transpires throughout the next year.

Honestly, if he is too scared to take the ACT again, I doubt he'll make it back here and into the league anyway. This next year will expose his character and intelligence more than anything.

The question is - does the NCAA or Europe better prepare a player for the NBA?

The ESPN hype he would have received really kills him. The Arizona fans seems fairly happy he left. I was looking forward to seeing him a lot against decent competition and seeing how he handled himself. There went that

I heard they play more veterans than Fulmer over there, that he can expect a hefty 10 minutes a game. I'd say roughing it through a couple semesters of 12 physical education credits and staying directly in scout's consciousness may be a better deal than going overseas. Besides, I'm not sure what the appeal is for any club team over there to have the best American 18-19 year old for one year.

I understand that, but it got very old, very fast. He is clearly a helluva player, but the showiness often indicates limited killer instinct, not always, but often.

Bottom line is, he wasn't disciplined enough to get his crap together and pass the ACT. That's pathetic, because anyone sharp enough and driven enough to run a NBA outfit can get that done.

yeah i think he has a discipline issue, he's taking the easy way out with going to Europe, but it will get alot tougher for him once he's in the NBA.
