Warren is still at Pelissippi State in Knoxville taking classes and working on getting his grades right in preparation for the admissions process into UT. He cannot commit, and has no reason to, because of the lingering ties to FSU. There will be no announcement or anything like that, but once he applies to UT and if he gets in, then he'll start with the football. He will not be here for spring practice.

If he gets his grades in order, yes, just not sure when he will be on scholly.

I'm not sure if its 2 or 3 years.

We should quit recruiting players from schools that aren't serious about getting their players eligible, this is one of them. When their alumni and parents start asking why they're not being offered by the Vols and they explaini why, things would change.

In regards to Warren, you do know he went to FSU last year, right?

It is a shame that Alcoa cannot get many of their kids eligible, but if UT doesn't offer, others will, sending them to a prep school or JC first just like we have.

I don't think much from Rae Sykes, I personally think he is overrated, but Duck Lindsey will be a good runningback or linebacker.

Yeah he was at FSU but look at other players from there recently. Hopefully the adults would demand more of the administration besides wins over little town schools that have no chance against Alcoa.

Alcoa should "play up" in 3A no doubt. I don't know if they allow that anymore, but Elizabethton used to do it, so...

They do allow it, Greeneville High does it. They're rarely challenged except for Maryville until the state final and often not then either. It would prepare them more for college too. Would love to see Fulton, Austin East, Catholic and Alcoa fighting each other week in week out.

Well, there has been a great, unusual run of talent at Alcoa lately. There were periods in the 1990s, for example, were they didn't have near the talent and would have received beat downs in 3A. But for the most part, yes, they belong in 3A. Before they voluntarily move up, Maryville should move up to 5A. Their dominance is great too, but overblown; Region 2-4A is overrated. I'd love to see MHS play Farragut, Oak Ridge, and WB as a region game or maybe D-B, Science Hill, and Bearden if they were in region 1. Maryville would still win state titles in 5A, but would have much more competition in their region.

If I remember correctly Warren went to FSU because they recruited him as a TE. UT projected him at DE.

I think both recruited him somewhat as a TE and pass rushing specialty DE.

O, and it's just dumb to say we don't use the TE since Brown is going to break Witten's TE reception record for UT this year.

No, Warren went to FSU because he had grown up a huge FSU fan like a lot of kids his age. He was watching as a little kid during their glory days. He never shook the idea that he was going to get a chance to play football at the college he loved growing up.
