"It had to have been coaches from other schools that turned Tennessee in. They probably got jealous when they saw the girls at the game. We did nothing wrong and neither did the girls. They stayed in a hotel alone and didn't even have anything to do with us beside watching us play.

Article goes on to say that Willis spoke with Kiffin and Reaves and they assured him everything is fine.

I think this whole deal added to the rumors surrounding Orgeron gave Willis a little bit of a scare and he was willing to confess it to someone outside the program. (I'm referring to his previous comment about being a "medium" commitment.)

"None of the other schools have compared to Tennessee," Willis said. "I'm taking my visits, but I'll be at Tennessee. I just want to see what else is out there."

He says he is 90% committed.

One of the things I read about the investigation was were the hostesses paid by Tennessee. If they were it would be a violation, not a major one I believe, but if they weren't I don't think anything can come of it just like any fan could go to a recruits games and hold up a sign saying go to the ________.

I know it is a pain in the arse right now, but when the dust settles I am glad that the NCAA is looking into this. We can gripe and complain all we want b/c it is happening to our school, but after what happened in Colorado in 2001 it is important to keep things in perspective especially since it seems we are going to be proven innocent here in a few days...

So GVX is smoking that stuff again b/c they quoted Willis not soft but not firm. Praise God for Sab b/c I almost stroked out when I read it. You think Lattimore is trying to turn him and miller though?

Once again, thanks Sab.....appreciate everything that you bring to this wonderful site...I think Willis remains with UT

The article on volnation's front page is completely different. He doesn't sound so convincing in that article.

The rumors have been

Jim Chaney to Marshall

Lance Thompson to Louisville

Ed Orgeron to USC.

So far they are all rumors and nothing more, but that is how Wilson to LSU and Gran to FSU started as well.

Ed Orgeron to USC is just a theory someone came up with there is real no basis for it.

Huge difference between hookers and hostesses

Miller's dad also said something similar to this.^

If there were coaches from other schools at the game, this is a violation because it was in September, is it not?

It also begs the question of "Who was the coach that was at the game that saw these girls.

Didn't have to be at the game, we may be making too literal an interpretation of the word "saw". Several of these coaches have contacts within these schools and are going to hear if anything negative or positive goes on regarding potential recruits. All it takes is a phone call.

I think they can be there but they are not allowed to have any direct contact with them during that period. Isn't it the same as when Urban was at some school and just happened to run into a player he was recruiting. I think they exchanged greetings but did not discuss his recruitment.

God I hope none of that is true. I don't want our staff to be rebuilt two years in a row.

Lattimore is the recruitee in their conversations. They have been trying to turn him for the Vols since the moment they committed.

Quite a bit different... those were actual hard-evidence recruiting violations by the staff with interactions on high school campuses. These girls are not restricted from going anywhere and talking to anyone, so long as they aren't sent there to recruit. There is no NCAA rule prohibiting friendships.

At the end of the day, this is just an example of a writer trying to get a national story out. He broke it too soon and now has pie on his face. He suggested the girls were there in UT apparel with a sign that said "Come to Tennessee". If he had any journalistic integrity at all, he would've gotten his facts straight before jumping on a story just to get his name attached to it.

Ed O will not leave Monte Kiffin for USC. Ed O is the associate head coach at UT. He is clearly the guy-in-waiting for when Monte does decide to hang it up.

I think he will at least stay here for his 3 year contract, after that it all depends on what Monte's plan is and what other jobs open up. The UNLV thing is louder than the USC thing right now. That's actually a HC job.

I also don't see Thompson downgrading to Louisville. Charlie Strong is going to run their D, so there's no chance of Thompson getting a better title there other than position coach.

If Chaney left for Marshall, it better be for a HC job. That's all I'll say about that one.
