Atlanta Braves short-stop Rafael Furcal has signed a 3 year-$39 million contract to play for the Dodgers! I don't think the Braves have anyone on their team or in their organization that is as good defensively as he is.

Probably not, but I think Wilson Betemit will be fine as the everyday shortstop. At least now between the money they save at SS and the restructuring of Chipper Jones' contract they ought to be able to go into the Winter meetings and sign a free agent or two. They've got to find some bullpen help.

its eihter betemit or another guy from the minors, they might find a free agent out there but theres not one i have in mind how about anybody else

Juan Pierre would look good in Left Field and leading off, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Bobby Cox has won many a division title without a true leadoff man.

I say go spend the money on the bullpen. You don't have to score a lot of runs if you don't give up a lot of runs.

I think we should get rid of DAN KOLB because not many people like him.

I'm also a little disappointed that we got Farnsworth went to the Yankees, I think we needed him.

If it were only that easy . . .

The Jose Capellan for Dan Kolb deal turned out about as bad as any trade Shuerholtz has made. Hopefully, Kolb can at least get it together enough to be effective in middle relief and not be a total bust again this year.

Ah well... the Braves will still contend and the Dodgers will still suck. Nothing major.

I think the Dodgers overpaid for Furcal, I mean Furcal is good, just not $13 million dollars/year good.

I just read where the Braves got left out in the cold by Furcal. Furcal had committed to meeting with the Braves once all his offers were in, but instead just signed with the Dodgers and left the Braves hanging.

Latest rumor is a possible trade for Julio Lugo involving Johnny Estrada.

Braves need to keep Estrada. The biggest thing the Braves need to spend money on is the bullpen. Starting pitching isn't bad. Chipper just signed a 3 year $37 million package. Smoltz will be around a couple of more years and should be a HOF! Would like to see Andruw with another great year and cut down on the strikeouts. Would like to see the Jones boys with a 40 plus HR's and 120 RBI's and Chipper hit .325 and Andruw hit .290 (that's a good year for him) plus two pitchers with 18 plus wins. GO BRAVES!!!!! :eek:k:
:victory: :clapping:

Not sure I'd agree with that. Estrada's price tag is about to go way up and Brian McCann looked pretty good last ear.

I think we wouldn't miss Estrada as much as we will miss Furcal. I mean we have McCann if Estrada goes anywhere and I trust McCann.

OH yeah, who is going to be the Braves leadoff man, Giles maybe?????????
