Coach Urban Meyer has endured another health issue at half time of the Sugar Bowl where the Florida Gators are playing the Cincinnati Bearcats. Although reports are unconfirmed, here is what we know so far:
After rushing to the locker room at half time Urban Meyer experienced some initial physical discomfort. The situation has been determined not to involve anxiety or cardiac distress, but rather a case of Gastric Acid Syndrome (GAS). Meyer tried to keep the issue from the team and staff so as not to worry them but as the situation wafted through the locker room it was impossible to keep it a secret. Meyer himself made the initial announcement and his remarks were somewhat vague. The situation became more clear as the players soon realized he who smelt it, dealt it. Meyer then suggested that that it might be a more serious problem that began with a case of TB. The University Sports Media office later clarified that he did not mean to imply that he had tuberculosis but that TB referred to a stop at Taco Bell on the way to the stadium. Although initial reports were that the incident was not life threatening, others remarked the situation was silent but deadly.
ESPN will have more information later on Sportscenter and will televise a special two hour press conference Saturday at noon eastern time. Please refer to the ticker at the bottom of your television screen for any further Urban Meyer Breaking Medical Situations (BMs).
