Brian Randolph has some words for Auburn

So what do you want our players to say when they're interviewed?

Something like this:

"Auburn is highly ranked and it will be a huge challenge for us to stop their excellent running game...We will have to bring our best performance of the year to win this game...We need our fans to go wild from start to finish..."

That is always an alternative...and you did ask....GO VOLS!

This is not trash talking. He's talking about their mentality. It's not like he directly stated Auburn's name and tweeted this

If the players were to say, "No comment", in every interview people would gripe. Why are they acting all stuck up? This is just proof that this team has given up! Wouldn't it be nice to hear them talk a little smack and show some fire?
This place cannot be satisfied.
Oh btw, his comments were nowhere near being smack talk. Reach much, Volnation?

he didn't talk any smack. He understands the value and importance of having the advantage of playing in front of Vol fans in Neyland. He doesn't take that lightly and it ignites a fire in the guys. I think that's great. He said nothing disrespectful towards Auburn at all.

You are exactly right.

Did he have words for Auburn? - I don't think he was speaking to the hot dog vendors - but that is not smack talk.

It's like Coach Jones said lately:

“I want it now,” Jones said. “Our players want it now. Our former players - our Vols for life - want it now. Our fan base wants it now. Our administration wants it now. We all want it now, but I see the positives each and every day. People in our industry that really study the game see it.”

He wants his players to be proud and have confidence.

CBJ is leading by example, teaching his kids to be winners.

This ^

Respectful of the opponent. Acknowledged what would be required to win. Requested support from the fans. 3 for 3. Didn't Tiny guarantee a win (or something to that effect) at Mizzou.

With that said, the thread title is misleading. Nothing in Randolph's comments was directed at Auburn.

How do you consider this smack talk? This is nothing more than just talking to the media. Smh...C'mon..

So - we hope Randolph can deliver. We have evidence at the UGA and USCe games they can. If they do we know the problem is as they indicate - good at home and lousy on the road.

Which is why you should always give generic, tactful answers to questions in interviews. It's really not hard to understand. No good is served with a pre-game Under Armor commercial for the public to get up for a game. Save it for the locker room and on the field.

they will be tough to stop.but if tennessee's defense is disciplined and don't make beef headed mistakes they should have a chance.

that is a huge monumental gigantic IF.

CGM has made better teams, much better teams, look silly defensively this year.

^This. He is talking about their philosophy as a team and not smack talking. Randolph is a smart kid and would be one of the last to run his mouth.

What philosophy? Play tough at home and soft on the road.

Come back when you find your brain or at least some common sense.
