Brick by brick catching on

Before church last night my pastor ( big dawg fan, I live in Georgia) came up and asked if I had seen the brick by brick video on YouTube showing the difference in last year and this year. He said he watched it and really thought Tennessee is gonna be on top soon. I just love how other team fans are starting to really be worried about our team!

Gimmicks only work if they are backed up with action, execution and discipline... soooo I guess that would be some of the major differences between Dooley and Butch.

At the Vol Walk when the former players were coming through, one of them was saying "Brick by brick." When I high 5'd him I said, "Brick by brick baby!" And he turned and grinned.

I don't think anybody is happier that we're coming back than the real VFL's.

I am not sure these type things are gimmicks as much as something that is tangible. Most people need to see, hear, touch things in order to understand and interpret them. Goals are good, but it helps to "see" what the goals are.

"Brick by brick" is simply something that can be seen to help the "building" of a program. That is also why CBJ handed out "inches." Coaches like CBJ can be more than just coaches- they are good motivators that can help many professions. For as much as we make fun of Lou Holtz, he was known a great motivator. I know that companies have used his videos in the past to help promote hard work and motivation. Great college coaches are also great motivators. It isn't always easy to motivate 18-22 year olds.
