Bring Back Fulmer As AD

I don't want him as coach. That ship has sailed. But he couldn't do a worse job at AD than Hart. At the very least, we know that he would do his best for the school.

A year ago, I never would have said this, I thought it best to have a clean break with the Fulmer years, but this search is inexcusable. Hart clearly had no plan in place, despite the fact that most knew this day was coming since the Kentucky loss in 2011. And after weeks of inaction, Hart goes straight for second tier coaching candidates, while Arkansas (freaking Arkansas who has never won an SEC championship) is offering the moon to big name after big name (and ends up with a great, young proven winner).

I honestly believe Fulmer could step in tomorrow and we would have a better chance of landing a top notch candidate than we do now with Hart running the show.

This search looks like he had no plan, definitely. I'm hoping he pulls a rabbit out of his ass. Or else, I will be forced to believe that the man actually wanted to hang on to Dooley if he went 6-6, waited too long to fire Dooley intentionally, has gotten us rejected by every target in a very public manner, and very possibly bungled a deal with Gruden over assistant coach salaries. That would make him at least as bad as Hamilton.

couldn't agree more. We hired a Alabama POS, what did we expect? Fulmer lost his touch as coach but the man still bleeds orange. He would put the University first.

Hart has flopped as AD, worse if possible than Hamilton. But I'd sooner hire Fulmer back as football HC than AD. Hiring talent, which is how an AD most affects the sports programs, is not Fulmer's forte. In his glory years, most of Fulmer's assistants were Majors' hires. Fulmer's 2 biggest hires for assistant coaches were Sanders and Clawson - and both were unmitigated disasters for UT football.

Skeeter, who I do trust, said last night that Dave Hart isn't the problem. He said, that Jimmy Cheek is the problem....and he is a big problem. I think we fire Jimmy Butt Cheek today!

I would take Philip Fulmer back. I don't know why people hold him responsible for the condition of our football program that it's in now. He had a minor valley and now we are in the deep gully. No way are we this bad off if Hamilton just let's him work his way out of this in 2008. I know a lot of UT fans don't want him back but 152 and 52 isn't bad!
He would work his tail off to get us back on top!

tennessee football has been down for 10 years. If phil compete, why no other college football hires him? The basic mistake is 2007's extension of his contract.

Basically Fulmer's last four years compared to UT's last four years are 7 wins 5 loss equals two more wins and two less losses per year by rough comparison.

At least this still-unfolding debacle has shown one thing. Dave Hart is about as good an AD as Derek Dooley was an SEC football coach.

No to Fulmer as Head Coach. Yes to Fulmer as AD. He knows football. Played baseball in highschool. He like BB. He's been a consultant on business and sports. He has Masters Degree so he's not stupid. He is a Tenn guy. I say fire that Bama idiot now. There is a fox in the hen house. There is an enemy among us and its wearing Crimson Red. Fire Hart today and kick Rammer Jammer back to Tuscaloosa. Fulmer would run that athletic dept very well. By the way he can take that Gator SOB Jimmy Cheek with him as he goes out the door.

Phil is true to his school and remembered with much respect. However, he is also remembered for his last big hire, Dave Clawson. Maybe the man deserves a takeaway, I don't know.

Sorry folks but Fulmer simply is NOT qualified to be our AD.

He loves Tennessee and bleeds Orange but he is NOT good at firing people that need to be fired and he NOT good at evaluating coaching talent and getting them hired.

The UTAD is a multi-Million $$$ business and we need a real AD to run it.

I agree that Hart and Cheek both need to go NOW and get the foxes out of the chicken house ASAP!

Fulmer just isn't the answer for any of our problems.

I'd like to see both of them fired TODAY.

I'd even go along with Haslam and our biggest boosters appointed as a official search committee to hire a new AD and our next football coach.

At least then we'd have a search group that really loves Tennessee and puts their $$$ in the pot to try and help us get things straightened out.

Whatever moron hired a gator and a bammer to run things at Tennessee should be run clean out of the state of Tennessee.

The smell on the hill gets worse by the day.
