I thought that race was a lot better than the March Bristol race. I thought it was one of the better races this year.

I wish Nascar races on TV didn't have so many commercials. I started keeping up with time between commercial breaks and they were cutting away from the race every 8 minutes at best and some were only 4 minutes apart.

I guess they pay the bills but I don't remember that many commercials in the past.

I couldn't believe they went to that 5 or 6 minute commercial break with just under 40 laps to go. By the time the race coverage resumed, there were only 20 laps left.

Nothing particularly memorable about that race I don't think... but I'm still loving the new Bristol. I know they used to run all over the track back when it was asphalt, but for someone like me who'd only ever seen the one groove, concrete Bristol watching the cars all the way up next to the wall is wild. Not to mention they can now pass without having to just wreck the guy in front.

I watched races on all four configurations; original 24 degree banking - asphalt, 36 degree banking - ashphalt, 34 degree banking - concrete, and current progressive banking estimated 24-30 degrees. IMO the best racing, ie side by side racing with speed factored in, is right now.

I would be lying if I said wrecks are not exciting, but I want to see racing, passing and being able to run side by side. I know what it is like to have to pay for and fix wreck damage, so that tempers the excitement factor.

Seeing three wide racing at Bristol is mind boggling to me. IMO there are still enough wrecks to fill the carnage quotient for the true knowledgable fan. If all you judge a race by is how many and how severe the wrecks are, I do not consider that being a true knowledgable fan.

I think Kyle was a bit surprised that Mark didn't get any more agressive with him for the win.

Mark did the right thing since he needs all the points he can get.

Mark said he didn't think Kyle would have taken him out, and that Kyle gave him plenty of room to pass, but he just couldn't get by, so he wasn't going to try to take out Kyle.

Of course finishing second for sure was good for the Chase situation.
