This came from a USCW board. I don't know if it is true or not, but Brown may have convinced Nunes at the Stanford camp. This possibly means Brown wants to play with Nunes.

"Just another note on this commitment. Josh is another quarterback Marlon Brown has communicated with regularly since they met while visiting Stanford".

Hopefully not the next Patrick Turner. That hasn't worked out well for anyone.

All signs are looking good for us getting Brown. We are loading up on offense. Not just flashy players, but a good balance of toughness and finesse. With the ability to close that the new staff is showing this could end up being our best class in a long time. With the talent that we already have and what we are bringing in, Brown would be making a mistake not to choose UT. It really is amazing that we are recruiting so well when you consider everything that happened on the field in the last few years and the off-field incidents. Just a few months ago it looked like we might have a hard time recruiting anybody and now we look on our way to having a top 5 or 10 class.

What is most impressive is the character of the recruits we are getting. I guess that the recent character issues don't affect recruits decision as much as everybody thought. Still need some DT's, though.

While I'm not ready to annoint MB as the next superstar, he would be great to get since he is from in state and we need to keep these guys. I do think the fact that we are recruiting so well, especially getting Nunes, has got his attention

It's really refreshing and great to see these young quality commits already helping out UT's recruiting. We got some good kids here. Bring on Brown!

We need to keep the top instate talent but he won't be an immediate impact guy. Sounds like good news though.

I think your right about him not being an immediate impact player. He would be a work in progress, but you can't argue with his physical tools, aside from his very average speed.

I think Bullard will be the #1 player in-state by the time Rivals releases its state rankings.

Still want Brown to be a Vol, of course.

This class has nothing on our 07 class.

True overall, but remember, that 07' class didn't kick off until Gerald Jones committed in November, then the flood gates opened in December with Oneal (yeah I know), Willingham, McKenzie, Berry, Melancon, and then Martin and Donald early in January at Army All American Bowl (that was 4 5 Stars and 4 4 stars in a matter of 6 weeks).

But, if you compare time of year, this class is smokin the 07' class. I think the 07' class only had Campbell, Maples, and Anderson at this time in 2006.

This class will turn out great, but won't have the overall number or number of 5 stars that the 07' class had.

Seeing how they usually go by star ratings. Brown is currently a 5* and Bullard is 4*, one would think Brown would be the top rated in the state. Of course, all of this could change in a matter of months.

There have been some posts here recently indicating that Brown has underwhelmed at one or more camps and his rating may well be downgraded. There may not be a 5* prospect from Tennessee come Fall.

I hope this does not come to pass. I'm just relying on the veracity of my fellow Nationals.

He was rated #1 athlete because he is also good at basketball all the rankings that matter on the football field he wasn't in the top 5 in anything. When I seen the film I took it the other way that he was dropping. I hope not

Why do I get the feeling that he's not as good as everyone thinks. Something tells me that just because he's got great size, he supposed to be Randy Moss.

You know I kinda had the same feeling about him, but even if he downgrades to a 4* I will gladly take him

the two of them are pretty tight. MB knew decision of JN before he announced.
