Most of the time I don't care for the Bruce will be the next coach at Iowa, or could go to UGA or something really unbelievable like the Wizards, but we may have an issue in a week or so.

St. Johns is down to Steve Lavin and Al Skinner. One would make it quite easy but the other represents a team in the ACC, a nice fanbase that could be energized by a passionate coach (kind of like UT before he came) and a place where an Alumni could wish to coach. He is from Boston, began his career at the school and of course it is his alma mater as well. I know everyone will say that it is not tennessee but you have to admit we always look for alumni when we have open spots.

Hopefully CMH has already talked contract extensions and possibly a raise. If Lavin or Jim Baron Sr. is hired this is moot, but this is more serious then most other open opportunities.

By the way Thank you UT for a great few weeks of excitement.....

He doesn't need a raise, for the love of God. I think his contract should stand.

Jim O'Brien was a BC alum who had that job. He ran out the door as soon as a better opportunity came along. It's a lousy job.

The job is going to Lavin anyways.

wow finally the insider we have all wanted to know since the we have been on this website.....

Did you think Lavin was going to NC State when Herb S went to AZ State as well??

Someone who doesnt relate well to the folks in Chesnut Hill or doesnt agree with Administration may want to bring prominance to a program that is returning 8 Seniors and the entire starting lineup. Trust me this could be tricky.

I actually agree on the raise and apologize for the suggestion, I did not recall the raise last year before the memphis hiring.

I think he'd consider BC, but he also knows Boston is a pro sports town. I don't think BC will ever support any of its teams at the level UT does. But, yeah, if BC is Bruce's dream, then we have a potential problem.

really a better opportunity? Can we at least know what we are talking about with FACTS. He actually sued the school for being racist in admissions. A lawsuit usually doesnt excite the administration and hope to keep you around.

He left for Ohio State. Nobody hangs around BC for a simple reason: Nobody wants to be about the tenth most relevant team in their market. There's a better chance of Obama hiring Pearl to sell his health care reform to the masses than there is of him going to BC.

Not a big fan of basketball? I'd say the extension/won't be an issue.

First off that could have been one of the worst jokes I have heard on this board in quite a while. Second they would actually be #1 college sports program in the area.

It is just a question and a concern, trust me I want him to finish his career at UT, but dont tell lame jokes to think that will make you point.

I have been a fan all season, but other then the Kansas win; most games have been fun to watch but not like this weekend was where I am basically waiting for the clocks to hit 0.0 so I can already know the outcome. If you thought this weekend was similar to a weekend when we played LSU and Ole Miss, then you must have missed it.

I really feel bad for you if the bold is true. Those were two magnificent games in which the players showed fortitude, grit, and determination. I enjoyed every single second, and would not have missed watching them play for anything.

You're welcome.

The starting lineup that just went 15-16, in a down year for the ACC?

They were actually lucky to have Skinner. And they won't replace him with someone better. Every coach they have gets screwed by the admissions office, and the AD is a nutjob who thinks his coaches are indentured to him for life--or until he gets tired of them and fires them.

WRONG! You know nothing about Boston. There are multiple D1 college hockey teams that people care a lot more about than BC basketball. Add in the pro teams and hat is correct, BC bball is around 10th is the Boston sports world.

Absolutely correct.

Boston has so much going on in sports. BC basketball isn't on the radar of the average man on the street.

I've never heard Pearl describe BC as a "dream job". I have heard Indiana described by him as this, but that was before he was more entrenched at UT.
