I just thought of another sign we are getting Brown. The signing of David Oku. Roll with me on this one:
If UT thought that Oku signing with the Vols would hurt their chances with Brown, wouldn't they tell him to wait and hold that spot for Brown? Not saying they would deceive him intentionally, but after all the mess with Oku de-committing ect. it wouldn't be out of the realm of acceptability for Kiffin to tell him there may not be a spot. The coaches had to have been fairly confident they could get both. If they thought they could only have one or the other, they would obviously choose Brown.
Thanks, you too, UTMBA.
I really didn't do it as a hatchet piece - and tried to keep the commentary to a minimum.
With facts such as those, commentary wasn't needed IMO.
Lastly, there is a little comedic grenade scattered in there somewhere....if anyone finds it. Without a doubt, Wheaton certainly will. That was the only license I took in writing it, everything else is verifiable, 100% truthful fact.
Brown's a Vol.
Type it up, put it in an envelope, write your name and address in the middle of the envelope, lick a stamp, put it in the upper right hand corner of the envelope, stick that mofo in the mailbox and mail it to yourself. Open it on Monday and stare in awe at what the amazing jt5 has done...bringin' you the news before it happens. Book it. You heard it here first.

I never said they did. Actually I said just what you did...except for the synergies part...:unsure:Sab, I'm pretty confident it's us, or, in a longshot, Miami.
But, I don't think they felt Oku would hurt their chances with Brown, whatsoever. I do think they like what Oku adds to the team. I also think they've seen plenty of opportunity in their system to use both players all along and were probably explicit in communicating that to them. I'm not sure they both recognized the synergies they give one another, at first. But I think they both see the advantages of playing together now.
It would be great if Brown, Oku, and CLK tell their stories about how this all unfolded when it is done, officially.

Posted via VolNation MobileThe recruiting staff has been on radio silence concerning Brown since Oku's announcement. Their quiet confidence is a sure-fire sign that they know where this is heading.
Sports Animal this afternoon cited 2 unnamed sources inside the team leadership as saying they "are comfortable with where we stand on Brown".
Guys, he's Vol.
Hubbs has been wrong on a number of things this year. He isn't the all-knowing god some seem to think he is.
He's a valuable resource to be sure, but some hang their hat on his every word and action which I find silly.I hope some people's actions don't reflect poorly on Hubbs. Hubbs is an excellent journalist and is really pretty humble. We had a lengthy phone conversation the other day, and he's a really good guy.
When he's wrong, he doesn't mind admitting it. When he doesn't have the "scoop", he doesn't mind admitting it.
Are they just comfortable or do they have a little James Brown in them, "I Feel Good."The recruiting staff has been on radio silence concerning Brown since Oku's announcement. Their quiet confidence is a sure-fire sign that they know where this is heading.

That, I've found not the case more often than not.
(is that a double negative??)
I can't say that I blame him. He wants the sources to continue to feed him the info. He's a valuable resource to be sure, but some hang their hat on his every word and action which I find silly.
