MANHATTAN — Former Kansas State running back Bryce Brown has entered his name in the 2012 NFL Draft as an early entrant.
He is one of 60 non-senior college players who declared for the draft. If he has not signed with an agent, he has until Wednesday to withdraw his name.
Brown and members of his family were not immediately available for comment.
Brown is a former standout and highly rated recruit at Wichita East who began his college career at Tennessee, where he rushed for 460 yards a freshman. He sat out the 2010 season, and decided to transfer to Kansas State. He came into this past season expected to start for the Wildcats, and was named a preseason All-Big 12 selection by the media.
But after playing in three games, in which he rushed for 16 yards on three carries, he left the K-State football program and spent the rest of the semester living in Tennessee.

Sad. What a waste of talent. Maybe he'll get picked up and make a career for himself.

If I were a team I would take a late round chance on him.

He most likely won't be a starter and a LOT of teams could use better backups

Why? He's not worthy of a draft pick. Free agent or Canada will have to be his route if a route exists.

The kid has the natural ability. He needs LOTS of guidance. I wouldn't hesitate to take him as a last round pick or free agent. He'd be cheap and if he gets his head right could easily be the steal of the draft. My money says the Pats pick him up.

I highly doubt he gets drafted. As others have said he could end up being a FA gem if he dedicates himself and gets his mind right.

Either way, good luck BB.

Raw talant needs to be developed through a college career to make it in the NFL. No way he gets picked up. So many proven guys out there will go first. If BB can't dedicate himself to the college game, how can he dedicate himself to the pro game? I guess the money is a motivator, but who knows what will happen...

Kansas State running back Bryce Brown has withdrawn from school and is strongly leaning toward entering the NFL draft, sources said.

Bryce's stats
He ran for 460 yards as a freshman at Tennessee before transferring to Kansas State, where he sat out 2010 and was named a 2011 preseason All-Big 12 selection. But he carried only three times for 16 yards and then left the team in September.

2009 - 460 yards
2010 - sat out
2011 - 16 yards

yep I would go to the NFL :birgits_giggle:

Let's leave the guy alone. His poor choices will be punishment enough. No need to pile on. I hope he is a productive member of society.

I feel terrible! Here is a classic example of when parents can destroy a kids career! He should've stayed here and put his heart into the program!

.....unless he gets drafted and does work and gets paid.... if that's your ultimate goal, who gives a **** about a college program?
