Just finished up the 30 for 30 The Best That Never Was. I was shocked @ how similar BB's situation was to MD's. Not a big deal, but thought some may have seen it. Thoughts? (Oh yeh, the biggest difference is Dupree was a frkn BEAST. LOL )

Close but not really the same situation. Dupree had flashes of not only being the best of all time, but being the best by a LARGE margin. Bryce didn't really wow anyone his freshman year.

But close in terms of all the contraversy

They are not similar at all. Marcus Dupree was a freshman phenom. Bryce Brown was the 5th best freshman RB in the SEC last year. Marcus Dupree played in the NFL at some point in his career. BB will not.

Very unfortunate for Dupree. Just shows how important the decisions young men make can change their lives.

I wouldnn't count him out just yet.

I should have clarified. The recruitment, signing, and contrversy in his time in college. The "disappearance", the coming back/not coming back thing. So I guess his OK time compared to BB's UT time. (They both "went home", ect) Obviously, I'm not trying to say BB is anywhere near the same galaxy talent-wise.

Bryce definately wasn't the best player in the country in '09. Should have been in the 30-50 range.

Plus that whole Agent thing, commiting one place and then commiting somewher else haha. The more I think about it the more I think the recruitment process was the same! cept Peyton didn't have to come down and convince bryce to come in lol

Really? I thought he was only 5th RB best on our team. J/k  I watched the 30/30 too. Powerful stuff, I really felt bad for Dupree. It made me wonder where Tony Robinson is these days.

Utter stupidity.

hahahaha. I love it. Brown showed exactly what everyone was afraid of. He was so much more talented then the kids he played in high school that it didn't convert to his freshman year. He tried too many things that do not work on an SEC level. You try to make him out to be Lattimore because he was the number one recruit on one recruiting service. I hope he does make it to the NFL but you cannot honestly say that he showed himself to be a guaranteed draft pick.

Sounds like a lot of wishful thinking.. BB will be carving the Big 12 up and will probably have Kstate looking legit.
