Too much basketball rots the brain. Let's talk football....

The day has almost come where we will see BB trot out onto a football field wearing a K-State uniform. :pukeb: K-State has been tight-lipped when it comes to AB and BB over the last year. The first real quotes I've heard about their performance comes from this article and even that's not much. I'm sure the K-State media and fans are just as curious about these kids as we were, although the K-Sate media and fans aren't nearly as rabid, so who knows. Regardless,

I thought I'd throw out a few questions:

1.) I found it interesting that in the above article, K-State includes BB and AB as part of their 2011 recruiting class. For the recruiting gurus, is it normal for schools to consider transfers part of the recruiting class once they become re-eligible or is K-State just trying make their offseason look better?

2.) Stated differently, how did the recruiting services factor in BB & AB (if at all) when ranking 2011 recruiting classes? Scouts said K-State took 12 three stars and ranked them 64th. I would imagine that doesn't include AB and BB, right?

3.) Do you know of any other recruiting class that took more relatives of former players than K-State? They got Justin Tuggle, who is the son of long-time NFL linebacker Jessie Tuggle, Glenn Gronkowski currently has three brothers (Dan, Rob and Chris) in the NFL, Ian Seau is the nephew of Junior Seau, Marquel Bryant is the cousin of NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant and Hunter Davis is the cousin of current NFL receiver Wes Welker. Also, Tyler Lockett is the son of former Wildcat great Kevin Lockett and the nephew of Aaron Lockett, both of whom played in the NFL.

4.) Will BB start this year and will it be a "break-out" season? Define "break-out".

5.) If you were a RB, who would you rather play your last 2 seasons of college football for -- Bill Snyder at K-State, CDD at UT, or Al Golden at Miami? Who gives you a better chance at the NFL?

For me, Snyder, Golden, CDD.

6.) If you were a LB, same question.

For me, same.

7.) If you were a QB, same question.

For me, CDD, Golden, Snyder.

8.) Tell the truth -- will you watch at least 3 K-State games this year to get a look at BB?

I definitely will -- I'm put off by his actions at UT, and I'm not sold on his skill set, but I can't help it, I'm still intrigued by this kid.

(2) No they didn't count for ranking purposes.
(3) Can't say that I've ever heard of that many.
(5) For me it would be Snyder.
(8) I'll watch. Got to just to see how BB does.
Wished it could have worked out for him here.
Who knows what will happen. That's why we watch.

GO VOLS!

It seems like no one cares, but it will be interesting to see how he does there. I think many of us wonder what sort of career he could have had here at UT but that ship has sailed.

Who's Byce Brown?

He's gotta be the less heralded brother...but given family history, we can expect him to transfer at least once. Want me to put a call into Brian Butler to see if UT is in the plans after K-State doesn't work out?

For me, Snyder, Golden, CDD.
With the OL that UT is developing and emphasis on OL that Dooley has... I'm not so sure.

Besides that, UT simply plays on a bigger stage than the other two. That's the SEC advantage right now. The other two are regional coverage from ABC if that. UT is on CBS plus the ESPN contract.

I live in Missouri so I get the Big12 region on ABC. IIRC, I didn't even have 3 opportunities to watch K-State last fall.

FWIW, I saw either 10 or 11 of UT's 13 games on TV here last year with only one being PPV.

Not sure about all the Snyder Love fest or Dooley Doubt on the Responses about NFL future for RB, LB, QB. To me we have a much better history (including recently) of putting players in the pros than K STATE. Darren Sproles is the only RB I can think of in the NFL vs. Hardesty and Foster from past 2 seasons. Plus our returning talent at O-Line. We have J Mayo (Defensive Rookie of yr) plus coaches Sirmon and Thompson and not sure of K STATE LBs or coaches. And QB history at K STATE was more of a option attack although Josh Freeman is an excellent pro style QB (Peyton, Crompton, Ainge on rosters). Cheney vs. K STATE Offesive staff.

I am a homer but did not expect so much Bill Snyder love from UT Fans.

p.s. I would take DOOLEY's recruiting over Snyder's too.

Correct. I don't think his decision was motivated by what he perceived as his chances for getting to the NFL. I feel like he probably wanted to go to Kansas State until Kiffin convinced him otherwise.

I think that has a lot to do with our recruiting being a lot better. I don't think player development is a problem at K-State.

Trying to make things appear better than they are..

2.) Stated differently, how did the recruiting services factor in BB & AB (if at all) when ranking 2011 recruiting classes? Scouts said K-State took 12 three stars and ranked them 64th. I would imagine that doesn't include AB and BB, right?

Sure it does, AB and BB where re-evaluated.

In a conference that probably fits his skill level it would not surprise me at all.

5.) If you were a RB, who would you rather play your last 2 seasons of college football for -- Bill Snyder at K-State, CDD at UT, or Al Golden at Miami? Who gives you a better chance at the NFL?

What school you play at does not matter it matters how you produce and perform at the combine and pro day.

For me, Snyder, Golden, CDD.

6.) If you were a LB, same question.

Depends on the skill position coach

For me, same.

7.) If you were a QB, same question.

Depends on skill position coach.

8.) Tell the truth -- will you watch at least 3 K-State games this year to get a look at BB?

No, you wont have to watch K-State if he does anything at all you prolly see it on ESPN

I definitely will -- I'm put off by his actions at UT, and I'm not sold on his skill set, but I can't help it, I'm still intrigued by this kid.
