Kansas State scored a TD with just over 1 min. left in the game to beat Div 1-AA Eastern Kentucky 10-7 yesterday.

Bryce Brown currently running 3rd on the depth chart.

3 carries 16 yards longest 12 yards

1 fumble in 3rd qtr deep in K State territory to set up lone Eastern Ky TD.

3rd string at K State.....stars aren't everything folks.

There aren't 2 backs on that roster better than him. It's political BS from Snyder over "voluntary" summer workouts.

Maybe he'll think twice about benching his best player if they're barely good enough to beat Eastern Kentucky without him.

Just glad he is gone. The whole situation with him and his handler concerned me. Who knows if he and his brother Arthur will face future issues with the whole Miami scandal.

Yeah, because that's always a smart choice...

Not always, but some parents try to live a fantasy thru their kids, Mr. Brown did his son wrong.

He'd start for UT had his father not forced him out.

Until he got hurt in the second game. BB is not an SEC back. That's why his sad pulled him. Less competition. Not turning out too good SGM.

Again, they are "voluntary" in name only.

Maybe Bryce will think twice about screwing off all summer if he wants to be the starter.

Exactly. If you have played sports at the high school level or higher, then you better show up for unmandatory workouts. it's a test from coaches to see who is willing to show up to the "voluntary" workouts. My coaches used to always tell us that it's not mandatory but you better be there if you want a chance to play

From the manhattan mercury:
(Anyway you slice it this is not how the Bryce homers would have predicted he would start. Third string or no he coughed the ball up deep in his own territory helping the opponent get their lone score. He also got bested in yards, ypa and long by someone who wouldn't start at UT)

Bryce Brown then fumbled the ball on the first play of the Wildcats' very next possession, which led to the Colonels' only touchdown of the game.....Brown, who was the third running back to see the field, only had three carries on the night and finished with 16 yards.

John Hubert was the main beneficiary in the ground game, collecting 91 yards on 17 carries — including a 20-yard scamper in the second quarter. Yet, Snyder said that doesn't necessarily mean he's in the lead for a position that continues to be undecided.

Of course, he may be 3rd string because out of 5 touches in the game, he fumbled 1 away.
