The Phillies star Bryce Harper is moving his family to Knoxville. I'm not a fan (go Braves), but he can be a UT fan if he shaves his head and gets a Phil Fulmer tattoo.

I wonder if he’ll be a neighbor of Todd Helton? TH has a couple of acres on Fort Loudon just below Concord Park, but just recently spent $8.5mm on a new place about a mile upstream from Concord.

Is that his house on the Peninsula across from the bridge you go under to enter concord marina?

Tony Hollin (Edfinancial, Avalon Golf Club, and a sports training academy) and Kevin Clayton are on the peninsula near Northshore and Westland across from the park’s boat ramp. Helton’s new spot is near Riversound. The previous one is off of Choto Road a bend or two south of Northshore (Warrior).

(Sid and) Jo Blalock’s estate own the bigger house on the peninsula across from the boat ramp. Blalock Construction. Before them it was owned by James Bush/Johnson & Galyon.

Yeah, I was talking to my son and he apparently knows their granddaughter. He said both of the Blalocks had passed fairly recently within weeks of each other. Not sure if that's true or not.

It's a beautiful property.

Sid Blalock died 7/8/2019.

Jonelda Blalock died 6/13/2022.

Interesting that that property was owned by principals of 2 major, local construction companies. Blalock has poured a lot of concrete and asphalt building roads in the region and Johnson & Galyon has built a lot of large buildings around the area - especially for UT and major medical entities.

There’s another huge (older) lake front house on the Knoxville side of Fort Loudon close to Lenoir City. I think that family built bridges. I forget their name. Unless it’s been split up, it was on what looked like a hundred acres or more.

Edit: I think this is it. Off of Beals Cgapel. Almost a straight line up river from Calhoun’s in Lenoir City.

Unless Bryce goes for a private mountain home, he might end up with one of the massive Fort Loudon (or Tellico) properties. The timeline actually could fit either Helton’s older property or the Blalock house.

A few MLB players are on Melton Hill. Atlee Hammaker. Yan Gomes.

Graig Nettles (6x all star w/Yankees) moved to Lenoir City about 20 years ago.
