Not a list we want to be on.....unfortunately we are

Tennessee (9)

Preseason rank: No. 20 from ESPN/USA Today.

Now: Unranked, no votes. Record: 15-8 overall, 5-3 in the SEC.

Bubble status: In the eye of the beholder. Someone looking through orange-tinted glasses would see a neutral-court victory over Villanova, an all-but-road victory over Pittsburgh and solid wins over Missouri State, Memphis, Georgia and Vanderbilt. A doubter would see home losses to Oakland, College of Charleston and USC, plus road losses to Charlotte and Arkansas. But let's face it: It's a bad bubble, and Tennessee has quality wins. The Volunteers are No. 39 Sagarin, No. 46 Pomeroy and No. 21 RPI.

Low point: The 13-point, never-in-it home loss to Charleston on Dec. 31, completing a run of four losses in six games against underdog opponents. Of course, going eight SEC games without coach Bruce Pearl on the bench has been a humiliation in and of itself.

What's gone wrong: Good thing the Vols have been a strong offensive rebounding team because they miss plenty of shots (44 percent as a team from the field, 32 percent from 3-point range -- the latter ranking 11th in the SEC). The wildly inconsistent performances suggest a lack of focus, and it's reasonable to wonder what Pearl's ability to focus has been like with the controversy swirling around him all season.

Honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised with the NIT......things may change for the better now that BP is back now though

Nothing will change with Bruce at the helm, as we've seen the exact same team in his absence. This team is what it is.

The selection committee really overlooks SEC teams. Look at Miss. St. last year. Decent record and lost to Kentucky in SEC title game by a few. They had talent.

Only problem is our "marquee" wins were early in the season.....

A little to early for this.

But a win tonight at Kentucky will seal an NCAA invite.

The man is an idiot. Mid majors will be on the bubble. We will get a 7-9 seed most likely and upset someone in the 2nd round depending on the matchup

We need 20 wins to be able to definately get in the NCAA. We have 15 now! We have 8 more games, plus at least one SEC tourney game. So, we need to win 5 of our last 9 games.
If we win in the SEC tourney, we could get more than 20 wins.
I am anxious about this season because I don't see us having many big men next season.
Next season may be a long season. Fields will be gone! Goins will be gone! Pearl will be gone! Williams will be gone! Bone will be gone!
Our recruits are both guards, if I am not mistaken!!! Where are the big men???
Maymon, Woolridge & Hall?????

Fear the bubble.....

tennessee is not a bubble team.

they will be in the tournament.

I'm not sure how you came to that assessment. We've already got 4 losses in conference and have 3 more certain losses left on the schedule. (UF, Vandy and UK) Even if we sweep the slate of winnable games, which is certainly possible, but I wouldn't bet on it, that puts us at 9-7 in conference. That doesn't sound like a surefire NCAA bid to me. Our one saving grace might be that by not getting a bye in the SEC tournament, we'll likely draw one of the horrible West teams and have a pretty good shot at getting at least one win in Atlanta.

We are creating the picture perfect resume of a team that is one of the last ones out.
