As it was last year, the last 3 or 4 at large spots are going to go to the teams that suck least. In the last 24 plus hours, Florida, Northwestern, Charlotte, Minnesota, and Louisville have no showed. They won't be the only ones. Let the carnage begin.

Louisville has had flashes of really good basketball. I think tonight's dreadful performance can be somewhat attributed to the Pitino-Nets rumors.

Pitino nailing a future Tiger conquest is probably more relevant, but neither matters much. They have a roster of recruiting busts.

I think the tournament is almost anybody's game because there are very few dominant teams this year.

But we need 96 teams in.......

Northwestern and Minnesota have definitely set up a scenario for a Valentine's Day Massacre for the loser Sunday.

And I like Notre Dame's chance better than Louisville's.

Pitino has become pathetic. He has his cronies go sniffing around any and every NBA opening, then acts offended when people ask him about it, as if he's so noble and so committed to the 'Ville.

Perhaps instead of expanding the field to 96, we should do away with conference tournament auto bids. That would free up a few spots each year for more deserving teams. There will always be a bubble, but teams who are below it shouldn't get a back door into the tournament for one weekend of work.

Notre Dame and Louisville have both done a bangup job of littering their resumes with atrocious losses.

The shine is gone and nobody cares about the maker of his loafers any longer. Time to move on.

Yes, from sources I consider irrefutable. Those same sources tell me the Nets reps who were contacted laughed in the face of Pitino's errand boy.

Which they should have. Pitino would have to be a moron to think that another NBA team is going to give him a sniff.

Never underestimate the stupidity of NBA ownership.

Well, at least the Nets had enough sense not to bite on the offer. Do you think there is anything to these Calipari-Knicks rumors floating around? I don't really buy it because I think they want to give D'Antoni every chance to be successful.

Only if it's a package deal with LeBron. The Knicks would hire me as their coach if it would put the King in orange and blue.

I wouldn't mind seeing UK's reaction if this comes to fruition. I guess it actually makes sense considering Cal's relationship with LeBron.
