Somehow, I missed it when MSNBC took Buchanan off the air based on comments in his new book. I always had mixed feelings about him. On the one hand, he had clearly always been a bit racist. But he is smart, and does know a lot of the people in past administrations, obviously. That gave him some unique insight.

I thought that in past years he had been a valuable counterweight to Matthews, Maddow, etc. The discussions were always vibrant and witty. There did seem to be something lurking below the surface with him, though, and that was worrisome.

Notice that he hadn't been around for awhile, and now I read this comment about it. Interesting commentary and its a good read.

I like the guy's joviality, but some of what he said in this book is probably just too much.

ah yes he's bad but the ones calling the Pres a murderer and a fascist are just fine. Pretty dishonest to present MSNBC as a tolerant org

I liked him just because I thought he added a unique perspective on things.

from his hidden racist viewpoint right? Pretty sad commentary by you

No, from the fact that he was in the room when a lot of important things happened.

I guess he managed over the last few years to keep that his focus, at least that was so when I saw him. but some of the comments reported in his book are I think a bit out there.
