BUCK FAMA

If ever there was a year that we can beat them, it is this year. Bama has not looked like a Saban team against anyone and the players and fans know it. We can catch them w their britches down and put a spanking on them if our O has a come to Jesus meeting and figures how to play 60 minutes again. Go Vols

The truth is the Gumps and us should already have 2 losses. The battle of 2 average teams. I will be there and give my All, hope the team does the same

Our offense has looked like a lost cause outside of Sampson.

I might have to duck after saying this again, but IMO, most of the blame is on the coaching staff. We have talent on the field when we have the ball. We have to accommodate our weaknesses and play to our strengths.

My recipe for a successful offense is:

1. Positive yards on First Down ( sooooo important not to put our young players in the hole where they must secure 10 yards in two plays. We have three plays )
2. First Downs, Not Touchdowns. If we focus on moving the ball and securing one first down after another, we will score the touchdowns and field goals we need to win. Throwing long on first down for example is great if you have a team that can consistently execute this plan, but we are too young right now, so focus on moving the ball every play. And by moving the ball in short (er) increments, we allow the D to be refreshed when they are back on the field. Every defense has it's weaknesses, so exploit the heck out of those by calling the right plays. And yes, when we reach midfield, a pass downfield is awesome but, get to midfield first so that we can control the field position. Get first downs, get first downs, get first downs, and the TD and FGs will follow.

Go Vols!

Ok, 2 5-1 average teams. You happy?
I'm always happy. I think our preseason rank of about 15 was about right. Not sure you and I would agree on the meaning of average. If Nico starts to figure things out some, gaining confidence along the way we could still make the playoffs

UT has as good a chance or better than Vandy or USCe of beating Alabama. So, say what you will about UT's performance thus far, Alabama has been comparably underperforming.

Go Vols.

They dropped us to 11 and leave Alabama ranked at 7? I expect that after we beat bama on Saturday, they'll still somehow rank higher...
