Buck Henry Dies: ‘The Graduate’ Writer, ‘Get Smart’ Co-Creator & Early ‘SNL’ Favorite Was 89

Among the many awards Henry racked up during his career are 1994 Golden Globe and Venice Film Festival prizes as part of the ensemble in Robert Altman’s Short Cuts, BAFTA and Writers Guild awards for writing The Graduate and another WGA Award for What’s Up, Doc?

Many years ago I loved watching Get Smart with my parents. Some very witty lines as well as laugh out loud humor.

They did a piece on him on CBS Sunday Morning today.

At my old office, I had to unlock three doors practically right next to each other to get to our office space... always hummed the Get Smart theme going through those doors. I did not realize he and Mel Brooks were the GS creators.
