I don't like lazy officials. They feel attacked. They deserve it. WORK the game. If you are too old, get out. The officials themselves have brought this wrath upon themselves. Something is wrong when there is no recourse against 'officials' poor officiating. I have ZERO sympathy for them.

Notice how every fan of every sport claims officiating is terrible? The number one problem isn't the officiating itself, but unreasonable expectations from the fans who have the luxury of watching games on TV and having everything be shown to them.

I'm glad they resigned but I don't see anything wrong with them calling games in the tourney. The two older ones had like 24 final fours? That's pretty good and I've never heard anything about either of these guys until now so they must of did their job pretty well before this one game. Everyone makes mistakes.

In most big corporations, if one makes a monumental mistake (and this was a monumental mistake) they don't get a second chance. When one screws up this severely, they deserve to be gone.

A radio announcer sitting on the sideline could make the correct call in near real time without the use of reply. Why couldn't the officials?

I get what you're saying about people not getting second chances. Lots of people get canned when they screw up.

The second part though... shoulda-woulda-coulda. You can make that argument about anything. If people didn't vote for George Bush or if someone else bought Windows, we might not be at war or Bill Gates wouldn't be the richest man in the world. Etc.

I agree that the calls or lack of should have never happened, but it's life. Believe me, I am not on the side of the officials. Mistakes happen though.

In the end, the only people holding a grudge should be the Rutgers players. Feel bad that they weren't given the opportunity to win.

There bigger tragedies in the world. If it was an honest mistake and the refs temporarily lost their mind, they should be forgiven.

Yeah, it's my fault they quit early. You have no clue the incompetence I have experienced with officials, TSSAA in particular. THEY signed up for the job: do it well or don't do it PERIOD. Ignorance of basic rules has become a major issue. You a ref? If so put some pressure on the slackers so they don't make all of you look incompetent. They're are some good ones; however, they are quickly becoming the exception rather than the rule. Have some MEANINGFUL accountability. As to the TV remark, if you don't want to be scrutinized, don't take the job.
