Bush Takes On Opponents of Immigration Deal - New York Times

Anybody else get hot under the collar hearing Bush call criticism of the Immigration Bill "empty political rhetoric" and "fear mongering"? I especially liked when he said "Give government a chance to solve this problem."

I'm really trying to understand his position and I understand that he is just trying to govern and gain a compromise, but I'm having a hard time with this one.

“If you want to scare the American people, what you say is the bill’s an amnesty bill,” Mr. Bush said
It is an amnesty bill!! Seriously, as much as I've tried to defend some of his decisions in the past, this is just stupid.

Amen i have too but this really makes me mad how can you grant amnesty to the people who come here and break american laws, refuse to learn our language, send their money home to support their familys which takes away from our economy(even with amnesty they will continue to drain our economy) and the list goes on and on just listen to 99.7 if i listened for an hour i could have 20 more facts

What's wrong with using a media outlet as a factual source?? The liberals refer to Television as factual so I don't see a problem with the statement he made. I too listed to 99.7, in particular Phil Valentine. There are alot of facts in what he says and some stretches, but its no different than TV based on what you refer to as entertainment and information.

The obvious bias? We are talking about the same station that (unless it has changed) carries the Bill O'Reilly and G. Gordan Liddy shows. I try to get my facts from actual studies and documentation rather than whatever idiot happens to be on when I am getting ready for or driving to work.

Now, please don't take that the wrong way, I am not calling you out, because hosts of shows on media outlets on BOTH SIDES tend to find research done by partisan groups to support their arguments. I try to find objective research and documentation before I jump to conclusions.

I stand by what I said, and Phil Valentine is not what I would call a reliable source for factual information.

And why do you have to generalize? The fact that I am a liberal does not mean I blindly follow James Carville or Paul Begala because they happen to get face time on media outlets.
