Always like to know what other business travelers are doing to maximize their points When traveling for example which hotel chain do you like to stay at rental car, and airline?

Hotel- Marriott/Hilton
Rental car-National
Airline- Delta /Southwest

Like most business travelers try to go on vacation with little to little expense except for food and fun

Lol I travel a lot for business but I’m an America’s Best Value in kinda guy. But if you’re telling me through some sorta rewards system, I can stay at a different hotel at the same price, count me in!

I don’t get the privilege of being selective to brand necessarily. But

Delta
American
United

In that order.

I’ll stay at Marriott, Hilton, IHG in that order if there is an opportunity.

I've got the Marriott Rewards credit card so I get lots of points there. Most of my trips are short and from the small city I live in to DC, so I'll either rent a car (usually Budget) or take the Amtrak into Washington.

If on budget for a project, I stay at a Marriott property as long as its within the GSA per diem rate. If I can't find one of those, or if I'm on a business development-type trip, I usually grab an AirBnB.

Ritz Carlton which is part of the Marriott program probably has better overall hotels and locations then the Waldorf with Hilton

I travel somewhat often for business (probably 15 or so trips a year). I don't really keep up with the hotel points because I try to stay close to the client office, which usually means staying at a bunch of different hotels.

As for the airline, I always always try and go with Delta. Very occasionally the fare might be outrageous and I will pick the cheaper option because the client is billed for it and just can't justify paying that much more.

I'd say 95% of the times I've flown on an airplane, it has been Delta. The other 5% have been US Airways/American. Of that 5% of the time I haven't flown Delta, I'd say half of those flights have been cancelled or delayed for some non-weather reason. "Maintenance," don't have the crew in place, changing the plane type, etc. I absolutely hate American Airlines.

Delta is far from perfect, but they typically get you there on time or close to it if the weather is OK. I've complained a handful of times when they have screwed up and given my SkyMiles or vouchers for it.

I'm Spire Elite level with IHG and Diamond for Hampton. For the most part, I don't think I've actually paid for a personal hotel room in about 10 years.

Living an hour from ATL makes Delta the logical choice 9 times out of 10.

Mostly Southwest but it's not available for some of our sites so whatever's going my way.

Love the Ritz... stayed at the Seoul Ritz Carlton in Gangnam at least 50 different times over the past 15 years. They got to a point that when I arrived they automatically upgraded me to a full size suite. Was treated great and that made my trips there so welcoming and comfortable.

Didn't really care about points, but I have a cash back credit card that paid for my Christmas presents last year..
