Butch has only coached 6 year's, so I am only going by coaches first 6 year's as a head coach.

Nick Saban
43-26-1

Steve Spurrier
48-21

Les Miles
50-26

Butch Jones
50-27

Do it again and list their team or teams they were coaching in their first 6 years. That will tell the tale.

lol lets revisit this record in three years.

I'm sure we will, But he has a valid point.

Remember Nick Saban never coached a day in the SEC... HC, Assistant or otherwise until he became a HC in the SEC. You never know until you give em a chance. Right now, until it's proven otherwise, I choose to be excited about the possibility of what could be.

Nick Saban - Toledo/Michigan State
Les Miles - Oklahoma State*
Steve Spurrier - Duke**

* - Les was only 28-21 in the W-L department before being hired by LSU.

** - Spurrier put together a 20-13-1 record before being hired at Florida.

I wish there was an easy way to see message board reactions of fans after Les Miles and Nick Saban were hired at LSU. Both probably seemed like fairly underwhelming hires at the time.

Why?

As far as i'm concerned, as an SEC Football fan, there is no difference between Michigan State and Cinncinati. Both play in scrub leagues and don't play the level of competition week in and week out that the SEC does. Doesn't mean that you can't find a good coach in those conferences, but trying to compare competition that really doesn't exist........

ND proved that the other night. Sorry to blaspheme your team Lou Holtz, but they sucked as much AZZ as I thought they would.

I remember something from tiger droppings when Miles was hired. They were referring to him as Less Smiles.

Yes.

They were not happy at all about that hire. Not that you would find too many people that would admit to that now.

well you know what they say............ figures don't lie, but liars know how to figure.

I like CBJ just fine so far, but he hasn't won a game here yet, let's see what he does before we anoint him the second coming..

Dawg you were wanting to run him out of town 2 years ago.

It is funny, Mark Richt does have the best record of all of them, and is the only one with his first 6 year's are in the SEC.

Mark Richt isnt that old eather...........I believe if Georgia keeps him, in 10-15 year's Georgia will make the Alabama's 2/3 year run of national titles look like childs play.

He has to do three things to maintain that winning percentage.

Recruit..recruit....recruit.. Average recruiting in the sec n his percentage drops fast.

I was just wondering who's first 6 were primarily in the sec. And that does matter.

I can't tell if your trying to blast my post or just going off what I said, but if you are try a little harder next time and make it more direct because I have no idea where you were going with that.If your not ...Sry.
