Butch Davis leaves for Florida International

That feeling when you would trade coaches with Florida International in a heartbeat.

Dave Hart can't get out of Knoxville soon enough.

What has Butch Davis ever done to make you think that he is any different than Butch Jones? Good recruiter and average game day coach. On top of that, I know first hand that he was well aware of what was happening in Chapel Hill when it was all going on. He's FOS.

Forgive me for not liking a middle of the road coach
He's hit his ceiling
No arguing that

Actually there is plenty to argue there. When UT wins their last two games, and they should convincingly, Jones will have increased his yearly season winning total for the fourth consecutive year in a row. How the hell do you know where his ceiling is when he continues to improve his win total every year? I'll hang up and listen...

Because of the season he's having. The best team he's had or will have and we're begging for a team to lose. The SC told me all I need to know, mix in the app, Ohio, Georgia, ATM games and the roof is clear. Tennessee can't get going against good teams and need luck or miracles to beat inferior teams. Tell me why he doesent deserve criticism....

And his so called savior is on par with Ole Sal as far as who's worse at D.C. He needs to go too.

I feel that you have an unrealistic idea of how college football works. Or college athletics in general. New coach= Staff turnover, more transfers, new offensive/defensive systems, buyouts, etc... And the cycle of subpar seasons will certainly continue. We're not 2009-... Alabama. Nobody is but them. Kicking out a coach who's improved the program as much as CBJ would prove to be a disastrous decision, especially at this point in time.

yeah about that Florida win.....

in your world did TN literally always win the SEC and National Championship?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_Volunteers_football#Conference_championships

Tennessee historically won the SEC every 6 years, and won the division every 3. Butch is potentially just one year off that second one. and considering what he inherited I will give him a year. if he wins it.

There's a difference between winning the division as a playoff contender and winning the division at 9-3. We should be the former, but like every other year under Butch, we lost some stupid games we shouldn't have.
