JONES: Its great to be back in Memphis.

JONES: I am very excited about the possibilities, We are exiting this football program for the long haul.

JONES: There is always a very high standard of expectation at Tennessee. We have to continue to grow and develop.

JONES: All 4 QBs took great strides this fall. The play of the newcomers really elevated their play.

JONES: This is an important decision, so there is no rush to name the starting QB.

JONES: We want to graduate our players in 3 - 3 1/2 years.

JONES: I am very proud of our graduates. Our #1 goal in our program is to graduate.

JONES: When you leave our program, you are going to be NFL Ready or Pro Ready for life.

JONES: Every opportunity is a teaching opportunity. Jalen Reeves-Maybin is fine. He was working out today in Knoxville.

JONES: We are fortunate and blessed that Jalen is fine.

JONES: Jalen was attending his first day of mini-term today. We are blessed that he’s fine today.

JONES: Jason Carr is a great young man and we wish him the best. We will be there to support him and help him. We wish him the best.

JONES: We have always made Memphis a priority. There are great HS coaches and great HS players here in Memphis.

JONES: On the schedule, my focus has been on maintaining the rivalry with Alabama.

JONES: You guys are going to love @UTCoachTyndall. I have had a great chance to get to know him on the caravans

JONES: To be able to add the 14 new additions. They changed the dynamics of our football team in a hurry. They made an impact right away.

JONES: We will welcome 18 more additions in the next couple of weeks, the most on defense.

JONES: We are excited for @JawuanJames70. Yes, he’s a 1st Round draft pick, but most importantly, he’s a @UTKnoxville graduates.

JONES: Our #1 goal in our program is to graduate. Not only are we here to win championships, but we are here to mold mature individuals.

JONES: This is Memphis, TENNESSEE.

JONES: Its all about our letterwinners and former players. They built Tennessee football with their sweat-equity.

JONES: I spoke with Peyton for an hour last week. We are Tennessee football.

JONES: We are just beginning. We are building resources. When individuals come on campus, they can feel the positive energy.

JONES: The #1 is very symbolic. We must play as 1. We have to focus on the day and focus on 1 opponent at a time.

JONES: The opening weekend will be electric. I am thinking about Utah State. We have to make sure we are ready to go.

JONES: We are all Tennessee tough.

JONES: We will be back in Memphis for the recruiting celebration.

I need to stop listening to so many CBJ interviews. They're all sort of starting to sound the same. I know there's only so many different ways Coach Jones can answer the same questions over and over but they're all starting sound so canned.

Can someone explain the point about wanting to graduate players in 3-3 1/2 years?

I'm guessing it means guys will be taking summer courses and staying on campus while attending summer workouts, so they aren't really away from the program.

Very disappointed in Coach Jones. He stated:

"On the schedule, my focus has been on maintaining the rivalry with Alabama."

When he should have said:

"On the schedule, my focus has been on Alabama and whipping dey azz."

I know what you mean, man. I tried sending him the below speech but never got a reply so guess he won't be using it:

We'll stop losing because we're faster and tougher.
If we choose, we can even out-talk Russia.
We'll be heading to the NCS some time soon nonstop.
There will be many at the bottom, but we'll be at the top.

You are correct. Most returning players take 6 hours in the summer terms (3+3) x 3 years= 18 additional hours. Also, some players stay and take mini term classes as well. It is my understanding also that players who do not enroll in summer classes have to make up the $$$ for rent if they live off campus (Vol Hall). Not 100% sure about that.

I imagine that players that don't graduate in 3.5 and think they can make the NFL won't graduate at all. Most of those guys that are combine bound etc won't take spring classes.

Thanks for all the clarification. Personally, summer classes were an asset to me during my undergrad years. However, at UTM, the selection of classes were slim.
