I think Coach Butch Jones will do a good job. If this team were coached by him this year we would have won some games on his passion alone. You can tell he will motivate players.

didn't Hart say yes,when Mike Strange asked if Gruden was fools gold at around the 15 mark in the Hart interview ? if it is the same one i looked at earlier

All I heard him say about Gruden is that he initiated contact early on in the process via Gruden's agent and was promptly told JG was happy doing what he was doing and would not be coaching at the college level.

If that's accurate, all the rampant speculation and rumor mill on the boards, the newspapers, from so called "sources close to the process", etc...were all complete and total BS, not surprisingly.

I'm all in! I think Coach Jones will do great things here and get this program back.Give Coach Jones and this team your full support and let's bring TN Football back to kicking some a**.

Around 15:45, Jon Gruden is mentioned as fools gold and Hart did say yes. Not sure if he was directly answering the Gruden message or not.

The talk of Gruden had to be from the booster's side---nothing wrong with that I would have loved to have had him but it did not come to fruition. Time to move on and support these young kids and our new Coach. They are going to need it, next years schedule is a killer. GBO

Thanks for posting these JimVol, I was unable to see the presser live, but my son called me and was raving and excited about Coach Jones. After seeing his presser I am going to drink the orange koolaid.

I will say this for coach Butch he wants it bad, real bad and thank the Lord he said nothing about 2-3 years from now!!

I do not know who is on his DC list but Mike Stoops at Oklahoma hopefully is.

You're right, it's not surprising. A bunch of us were calling that from the beginning. People were going psychotic in wanting something so bad that they actually started making things up to convince themselves to believe it.

He sounded excited and very passionate about his job. I also liked his statement about how he and his staff would "teach" the players. Most schools are graded on how many 4 and 5 stars players they get but if you can't develop them properly what good are the stars! Go get'm coach! GO VOLS! :yahoo:

I will get flamed for this probably but I was really impressed with both coach Jones and Hart in the press conference. I thought they were both very candid and honest and I really liked when Hart urged the fanbase to reunite! Come back together! And he's right, we need to jump back on board and will this team to win with positive support. Go Vols!

I liked how coach Jones urged us fans to go buy our season tickets "right now". LOL

The man had been the HC less than 24 hrs and was already working on selling us the brand again.

GREAT HIRE HART!!!!

I was getting all anxious and starting to question Dave Hart and this process. Early on in the coaching search Ainge said that it would be like this on his show. He said something like "Dave Hart is a real AD, not like Hamilton who gave us a play by play..Dave is a professional."

I think that we got all anxious as a fan base because Kiffin and Dooley beat us up so bad. One didn't care but was capable, the other cared but was incapable. LOL

Now we have a real AD and we have a REAL, PROVEN, and WINNING coach.

Imagine how motivating it will be to those players when Jones shows up with FOUR conference title rings on his hands. How will that look to recruits?

"Son, I want you to come help me add to my collection. Come play for me and help me win SEC and National Championships."

We hopefully have a winner here.
