Butch Jones Presser Post Missouri

He saw the same game I did. The senior O line lost their poise. That's very disappointing. But I have this feeling that back home in Neyland next week things will be different in a good way

If lost their poise = getting your a$$ handed to you while playing undisciplined football, your spot on.

In the end they have had a handful of games where they have played ok, the rest of the time they have been over hyped while under performing. They ll have to find a level they have not found to win next week.

lol butch jones gets "IT" he stuck with players that were taught by a pee wee coach to play in the sec... we have no depth, no speed , and players really have a lot to still learn defence has the most needs....to be honest our oline isn't playing that great not keeping there blocks and letting them get to the QB and break down on running plays

Play Marlin Lane at tailback that's a free tip on getting better and I'm not getting paid a million a year and I can see that.

I agree about playing Lane more, he looks slow running but always manages to power his way through for those extra yards. Neal does not. And although neal does a better job of ball handling, at this point id rather see more yards per carry than neals no gains.

I seriously hope we stop with the screen passes. Every screen play either results in negative yardage or no gain. Noone can seem to stay on blocks to make the screen plays effective.

Here's another tip put some of these receivers in a 10 x 10 room with a jugs machine, some of them act like they have never seen a football.

We got beat by the number 9 team in the country, got the number 2 recruiting class, and some of you idiots want the coach fired.

Bammer has room on the bandwagon.

Where did anyone say they wanted the coach fired? Why would any kind of bandwagon fan still be here after all the pathetic performances of the last several years?

How about you stop turning into a drama queen anytime someone criticizes a coach.

That is a fast team. We are not. It's pretty simple.

I guess speed is the reason for all the blown assignments, broken tackles, stupid penalties, and dropped passes too, right? It couldn't be that our team lacks discipline or fundamentals, right? It couldn't be anything that would be the responsibility of a coach, right?

There were so many mistakes by the Tennessee Vols tonight. I don't know where Butch can even start to fix them. I remember John Calipari in a post game interview after a loss to the Vols last season stating he was just going to burn the film. I wouldn't recommend going that far but man this game was ugly.

Time to play the future. Neal can ride the pine and save himself for the CFL. The O-line is a joke. Tiny and Bullard may as well leave early because the talent behind may very well supplant them otherwise. There's no need for Butch to play anymore seniors. F*** them. They haven't produced in the last 3 and a half yrs and probably won't produce in the next 3 games. Total joke talent brought in by Kiffy and Dools. Hopefully Butch's frosh can help secure a bowl berth.

One of the most ignorant statements I have read in a long time on this board.

To you, and the two **** holes that liked this post:

Drink bleach and have sex with a woodchipper. The Vol fanbase won't miss you. Your complete idiocy and lack of understanding of anything relevant to the game of football is what brought this on, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Way to take the high road. Since you don't agree with his suggestion, are you saying the current seniors don't deserved to be benched with their current play? They sucked pretty bad last night and I don't see them performing better.

It's time for a change up with some players. You can't tell me with 130 players that you can't find some that will try harder, that are faster and would give their all for Tn every play no matter the score

He acknowledged the lack of effort, but didn't address the lack of coaching. Talked a little about offense and winning the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, but failed to acknowledge the lack of defense and poor tackling.

I think he's upset (and he should be), but this game's performance is first on the coaches, then on the players.

I disagree... motion penalties, dropped passes, missed tackles, missed assignments are execution issues and by definition are player issues as they are the ones required to execute the assignments. The coaches aren't allowed on the field to actually play each down. Is it your contention that the coaches are coaching the players to make these mistakes? I continue to support this team and this staff. Hopefully they will manage a way to step up and win 2 of the next 3 games. :peace2:

Who on here -and I mean show me even one- has said that Butch should be fired? Some of you have a tendency to make things up.

I read several comments after the game from people wanting 'a coach that could win'.

Again with the "unacceptable" line, but where are the consequences after each unacceptable performance? They never materialize.

they have played 20 freshmen and 15 walk-ons this season so far. it is probably amazing that they have won 4 games with that.

I've been saying 2016 before this program can compete in the East division. Will have to turn over the roster and have his players available. Can't begin to accomplish that with the 2014 class. need at least 2 more like that one.

Its obvious many on this site have not been through a rebuilding phase at Tennessee. I've been through two of them. Don't feed me crap about others doing it quicker. Each place is unique and have different components that affect rebuilding.

Took Majors 9 years to rebuild.

This is a good post. I'm afraid CBJ will not be allowed 9 years though LOL. I agree with you though, it will likely take only 2 or 3.:peace2:

This.

The problem though is that we are not seeing consistent improvement being translated to the field each week. It's been one step forward and two steps back, where finally the defense seems to get it, and the offense falls on its face one game, and reverse the next.

Last night except for a hand full of players with Dobbs at the lead, the team gave up, which hasn't happened all season. That's hard to watch.

It's going to be 2016 at the earliest that we can expect the system and players to be in place with enough depth to get consistency again. None of us like hearing that because the Kiffin/Dooley years were to bad, but what other choice do we really have?
