I wasn't home to dvr it today. I haven't seen anything about it, so sorry if I missed something. Anybody watch it and hear anything worth much?

Disappointed but thinks team is showing progress. Asked fans to stick with the team.

I just think they need to find out which of their QB's they can win with. Can they develop Worley enough to where he has a dramatic turn around like Crompton did in 09? I really want to see one of the freshmen mixed in, at least in some limited capacity. If for no other reason than to get them some valuable SEC experience heading into next season. Otherwise, we'll be right back here where we are...with a Big ? at QB.

Sprinkling in some playing time for one of them will also let the staff see what they have, and if one of these guys can help THIS season....in some capacity. I do think Worley has some SEC caliber QB in him, but to date, he seems to get rattled/nervous and it really throws his game off.

If he's playing with some confidence, he showed in HS that he CAN light up the scoreboard. The coaches just have to find a way to get that out of him.

Are we really going to throw Butch under the bus after just 4 games?

The fight the team showed towards the end of the Florida game made me happy. Teams the past 3 years would have rolled over and died.

Butch will bring in recruits and we will get better.

You can't expect a miracle worker.

I totally agree. But you might be asking too much for some others around here

Said losing is unacceptable
Put emphasis on keeping contain, which I liked to hear
Said we have to create our own momentum on the road and we gave it away when we got our chances in the first half
HE SAID THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MORAL VICTORY but said he is seeing this team begin to grow up

Exactly. Butch has to use a walk on to catch punts where other teams can use a game breaker. Our 2 deep nickel backs are walkons who just don't have the speed to stop a 2 yard pass to the flat that goes for a TD. Marquez North was a QB and RB in HS trying to learn WR---and he is our big playmaker. Josh Smith was at CAK last year playing against Podunk high schools. We have one TE with any experience at all. No depth at DL or CB. Team speed on defense is slow. The upperclassmen are accustomed to losing.

Butch will get all of this corrected in time, but we need to give him some slack until he can change the attitudes of the current players and recruit some SEC ready studs.

Spot on!!! That is the best breakdown of the situation that I have seen. We need to copy and paste this to every wanna be coach here screaming for Butch's head.

Although I wasn't happy with seeing UT lose, I did take a little comfort seeing the team not rolling over as in years past and continue fighting.

Again, it goes back to a lot of fans inflating their expectations for the season. Butch had recruiting success all during the off-season and somehow that translated into the 2013 Vols challenging for the East and the SEC.

The whole Brick by Brick mantra has been thrown out of the window by these same fans. I understand the hope that Butch and the coaching staff would somehow compete with Oregon and UF. It hasn't worked out so far. It's not as if UT didn't have chances on Sat. They just didn't convert.

I was curious to see to how this place would respond when their own expectations weren't met. Volnation responded in typical fashion. Now, the blame game has started. You wanted Worley on the bench and got it. Now, starting Peterman was the worst coaching decision in the history of football!

Face it, UT football is in a bad spot talent wise. I know it hurts that UF, Bama, UGA, LSU, and even S. Carolina are running circles around our beloved Vols.

It's going to take some time to fix. The 2013 isn't going to get much easier. Can Butch hold it together by the time Nov. rolls around? That was Dooley's problem. The team quit on him.

He said he called that timeout in the second half when FL. was in the Red Zone to tell the team he still expected to win the game. He used it to see how the team would respond and they responded by not allowing any points on that drive.

Josh Smith played against air Saturday and lost.

Marquez North is a stud. He played QB one h.s. season. Spent 3 seasons as a WR. But that is irrelevant really because our real QB's have appeared to DEgress since arriving here. No way in hell Worley's arm was that shoddy in H.S.

I also do not put ANY blame on Peterman for what happened saturday. It does not change my mind going forward about him either. Kid stepped up in one of the toughest places to play in a game this fanbase is rabid about. Nerves got the best of him, hell so did mine.

To many people place blame on a traditional pass blocking offensive line but completely disregard the fact that we aren't throwing the ball. Bray also helped the line out by shifting to the correct position in the pocket last year which these guys will get, in time.

Not to mention, we are running read-option plays, that have the qb NEVER reading the defense and NEVER taking the option to keep it himself.

The pass protection itself is great, the running game though is not the line's fault. It's a combination of the scheme along with the lack of players to fit the scheme that blows the whole thing up.

Swafford is one of those nickle backs that is comming along just fine. Please keep in mind that he is a freshman walkon that has been thrown into the fire before he's ready. He does need just a tad more speed but he will end up being here and playing for three more years. He didn't miss that tackle that went for a Florida TD because of his lack of speed. He stumbled when he turned. He did have enough speed to take that Int. 60yrds. for a TD. He is going to be a very good player by the time he's a JR. & SR.

I agree and everybody needs to consider our OL for the most part graduates this year. That likely means a tough year next year offensively as well. In my head, we are 3 years out from really seeing CBJ turn this around for the better. It is going to take time.

Did he take responsibility for leaving peterman n for so long??? I expect 7 wins n expected us to be where we r record wise but that display of stubbornness is something im going to look for to change.. the game sat was a gift from the gods n cbj pissed it away. Will he learn? I don't know but he has to have a statement game to give us hope n sat was the gift he could have parlayed.
