Just a run down if anyone is interested.

Well we all know by now that he is a very energetic and motivational speaker and he showed that again. Team had thir first morning workouts today and he was very raspy from yelling.

He talked about recruits and some of the decisions they made to not take more players. He emphasized again that they are very specific to the type of player they want and they have their own star system.

He talked more about how much he loves it here and told us he had 12 job offers over the year at big conference programs and turned them all down pretty quickly. He said he immediately accepted this one when he had the chance.

He talked more about the vol Olympics and how they will practice saying that players get a check for each lack of effort play they see and run a gasser for each check at the end of practice. He also said during their weekly scrimmages players where 3 different color jerseys for their weekly performance. Orange is great, white is average, and blue is bad. He said that most of the team is wearing white and blue right now but they will get that changed.

He talked about how we are great fans and deserve a great football team and promised multiple times that HE WILL DELIVER! said that we will be the most energetic and passionate football team in the country and he dreams everyday about winning championships here. Said he would never leave for anything.

P.S. said Peyton manning and Butch talk multiple times a week and Peyton is fired up.

P.s. said Peyton manning is comming in town soon to work with the team for quite a while and can't wait to get here.

Go Vols We will rise again

Fantastic. I love him getting Peyton involved! I can't help but be excited about the attitude CBJ brings with him. I believe he really expects to win and I hope that is reflected in the attitudes of our players. Work hard and make no excuses! America could use some more of that attitude.

Man this guy impresses me more and more each day!! Can't wait for the O&W game!

Same here but am not expecting miracles the 1st year...Improvement will be good to see with a bowl game at the end and then lets see what he does when he starts getting his own guys in here and his offense installed and running on high octane..I am excited and starting to think We got us a winner but time will tell.

I really like the passion he has for this program. His enthusiasm has to be infectious to the team. He is confident he can win at TN. and I believe he will and soon.

I have to say that I like his passion as well however I will believe it when I see it. CBJ has a very tough job ahead of him to get the program back on the right track! Frankly, his odds of having success here are much less than his chances of losing. In six months, we will be able to see first hand his coaching abilities and we have the next 12 to see what type of recruiting class that he can put together. If he can't pull a top 10 class in it will not bode well for him. And if he can't go at least 7 & 5 and play well against the bigs then it will be more of the same.

I was not excited about Dooley and Butch was not a home run hire. However he is a winner regardless of what conference that is at least an improvement over the last guy. I think his excitement and passion for UT and his job is genuine and that will take him along way.

Of course, the excitement and passion will take him along way. That is by design! In order to keep the fans happy, he is being passionate and saying all of the right things.

However; he knows that passion will only last a year or so, until he will have to have results on the field. If he is super passionate but we lose games like we did with Dooley, then the fan excitement will soon leave.

Do you disagree with my post?

I do not believe that my post was pessimistic at all!

It isn't pessimistic to say that CBJ has a tough job ahead of him - posters all over this board would agree with that and that is not a negative statement.

It is also not pessimistic to say that we will know whether CBJ can coach in the SEC when they begin play this coming season - maybe he and maybe he can't - but we all will see soon enough.

Additionally, how is it pessimistic to say that if CBJ does not get a top - 10 recruiting this coming year that he will have probs? To compete and win against Fla, Alabama, Ga, So Car , he is going to have to get more and better talent into the program.

Totally agree. Unfortunately the harsh reality of our programs situation should be noted....this turn around will not be easy, or quick IMHO.

People need to realize the job that this coach/staff has in front of it and not get their expectations too high, a bowl game would be a great start to next year. Also a word to people, the team has to start beating people that they aren't supposed to beat, then we will start seeing 4/5 star recruits.
