Butch Jones at the Big Orange Tipoff Club - YouTube

From this question and answer session, Jones talks about his thoughts on the Saban rule. Yes, I know it probably just confirms what you already thought his response would be.

Another telling quote is that last year's "team spead was below below average". Again, nothing new here.

Just hoping that this video helps to hold all you football junkies through the lull between signing day and the spring practice.

Also, some other quotes from the video:

"I expect to sign between 18 and 22" for 2015"

"Everyone around the country knows that it is only a matter of time" until we're back

on Riley Ferguson - "he would have played last year" if not injured

on Josh Malone - "he wasn't coming here"..."we were going to play kentucky, and a number of schools were visiting him"..."we did some different things with the gallatin police department and it made him realize the importance of staying home". Anyone know what Butch is referring to here? He had a smile on his face when he mentioned it.

I was typing something bad but erased it.

Coaches had a police escort to his home.

That's not unusual, right? I mean, why would the coaches having a police escort make him realize he should come to Tennessee? Seems like there is more to it than that since it said "we did some different things with the police department", but I may be wrong

I was a commissioner of fire and police back in the 70s and am unaware of it being done before. The department would have been reimbursed and perhaps someone got a chance to watch a game from a skybox. When half the coaching staff arrives at your home surrounded by flashing bubblegum machines and sirens blaring, it might seem like something special. It might seem that your town is on Butch's team. It's nicer for a kid to come back home when everyone he knows is rooting for his team.

Thanks for your insight and your service. It definitely is something special to have that done.

I have to admit listening to coach Butch Jones speak really gets me fired up. I feel like he will definitely get us turn around however I don't know that for 100% .....but right now he certainly seems like he's good for what ails us.... He just has that unique ability to communicate.....: that's why such a great recruiter..,

I honestly believe Jones loves UT and the challenge, his recruiting ability alone is worth it's weight in gold. Recruiting is the life blood of college football and he understands that. He puts a smile on my face about UT that I haven't had since 1998.

Same. I just love the dude.

This interview is also nice because he breaks away from his usual coach speak a bit. I normally can't listen to his interviews because he literally says the exact same thing in all of them. I like it when he shows a bit of personality in post game press conferences and longer Q&A sessions like this.

This was a great video. I found the information on recruiting to be really good. Admittedly I don't know that much about the recruiting process but one thing did stand out. Butch said they are not allowed to text message a recruit but can tweet them? That doesn't make much sense. I mean twitter is not that different than text messaging is it?

About the Qb situation, when he said RF would have played if not hurt I wonder what game he was talking about? He never really specified. Would it have been the UF game or the Alabama game? Either way I am excited about the future with CBJ at the helm.

No problem Indiana, I love what Butch is all about. I was beginning to bore myself with the negativity but I honestly believed Dooley deserved it. I really had a major dislike for the guy and unfortunately let that get the better of me.
