Ok I admit, I was one of the doubters about this hire but after what Butch Jones has done with this program, I believe Dave Hart made the right choice by hiring him to bring this program back where it belongs. He's done so much for us already that Dooley couldn't do like lead us to a victory over a ranked opponent the first time since 2009 and having a top 5 recruiting class so far. All the buzz that's going around Tennessee, you can't help but get excited about the future of our program. Not only does Butch Jones care about this program, but he also cares about his players on & off the field as well. He's a great coach with great character which we've lacked in a coach for quite sometime now. I know we still have a few more years until we're competitive in the SEC again but I believe Butch Jones is the perfect man for the job. I've never felt this good about a coach before in long time and I truly believe he'll put Tennessee right back on the map. Who else thinks so? GO VOLS!!! :clapping: :good!:  :dance2:

I don't think it was Dave Harts doing as much as it was everyone else but Butch to turn the job down. Dave hart got very, very lucky.

Of course, Pat Summitt was THE PERFECT HIRE!

Butch Jones has big shoes to fill to compare with the accomplishments of Pat, but as our football coach, he is very close to being the perfect hire for this time in UT Football.

He has certainly made tremendous strides even though he came into one of the most difficult situations imaginable. He deserves our patience. He will get it done.

Our next problem will be keeping others from trying to hire him away from us. Believe he will show us loyalty if we show him loyalty through this rough time.

Go Butch! Go Vols!

The problem will, once again, be fan expectations. There are people on here already talking about how much this incoming class will contribute next year.

I've been watching SEC football for a long time and I don't recall a team fielding a lot of FR. at one time...much less being successful. They will be very good but it will take 2-3 years.

You forgot about him and staff getting a 1000 apr for UT. Wich got us off the hook for bowl bans and loss of scholarships. That is by far the best thing that has happend so far. The recruiting class is right there with it though.

so far he has done all of the right things. i won't say perfect yet.

Perfect? This not Fantasy Football or a video game. What Coach would instantly turn things around with our schedule and talent that would win most games? You think Gruden would turn this train wreck around to winning 10 games? Where would he or any other coach be in Recruiting? Tell me FWAD.

Given the pool of job contenders, I think he is one hell of a hire. But I won't give hammy the credit for that.

Yes, we need to grow into a roster with a generous number of RS seniors with a sprinkling of big play freshmen to be successful. That will take some time. Some grown men who know how to win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get us over the "road blues" and everybody will be happy.

Look at the road games and I doubt that any of those teams could go on the road and beat all the teams we played on the road this year. Time to realize our schedule this year is one of the most difficult in the history of football, especially the road schedule.

It really doesn't matter if your that good of a coach as long as you can keep recruiting the way Butch is.
