Butch made the correct decision to punt and I trusted him.

I don't know if it was the "right" move, but there wasn't enough to be gained by going for the conversion for it to be a bad decision.

Ya glad he knew what he was doing cause I had no clue....I'll stick to drinking on the couch while he coaches from now on.

I was fine with the punt, I admit I was worried about the end instead of running one more play to line it up better he let the clock run. But holy cow what a game.

It worked--and it was a justifiable call in the sense that our defense was playing well in the fourth quarter--but it only worked because our defense came through again and North made an amazing catch. One south carolina first down, or if North does not make that catch, and we'd be crying in our beer for the 100th straight time.

1 first down couldn't have killed the clock

I thought it was the right decision. Shaw was out and they clearly had little faith in their backup. The Defense was playing well too.

It was a gutsy call - if they lost, BJ would have looked the goat - but considering the backup QB had just come in, he was using that before they had time to put plays together - it was a big risk but it paid off. And you dont win big games without big risks.

It was the correct call with Shaw out. I would imagine Butch goes for it if Shaw is still in there. The chances of Worley completing that are pretty low on 4th and 4. Chances of our defense containing a cold QB were pretty good and then getting the ball back in good field position.

Completely different situation if Shaw was still in.

No not really. I was screaming at my TV at the time.

Dude, I was killing Butch at the time! My dog ran into the other room. Then, North made me look foolish with one of the best catches I've ever seen! Congrats to this team, they earned it.

With 3 timeouts and them playing a backup qb it seemed like the right thing to do. I didn't feel like we'd convert if we went for it.

I think it could have gone either way. Less risk on the punt quite honestly. If they didn't convert we would have been hoping for 3. N out on our side of the feild.

Spurrier still can't believe they didn't get a first down on that last drive and run out the clock. He wanted to go for it so bad on 4th down that he couldn't stand it.

When you look at the talent on the two teams, it's clear, Butch thoroughly outcoached the Head Ball Coach today......and it could very well be Spurrier's last trip to Neyland.

If Shaw is in the game he probably goes for it & gets it. He made the right choice considering & even if North doesn't make the catch they probably throw a flag that they should've anyway. Then we go for the TD instead of fg.

Just a 15 yarder though; we would have had to grind out some more yardage
