Of course, they still want to beat us but I get the feeling it's no fun to beat Tennessee when it's this far down and I can understand that. What's the point of bragging about a win when your rival is at an epic low point instead of at their height.
Doremats? Yeah, it's pretty hilarious to hear them brag about beating us last year, as though it was somehow an accomplishment.
I've heard a lot of people say that lately -- even our rivals. Seems everyone is just as tired of us sucking as we are. Of course, they still want to beat us but I get the feeling it's no fun to beat Tennessee when it's this far down and I can understand that. What's the point of bragging about a win when your rival is at an epic low point instead of at their height. The UT-UF games of the 90s were legendary because both teams were good enough to win and go for it all.
They are the exception to the rule. Victories by Vanderbilt over Tennessee occur with about the same regularity as sightings of Halley's Comet, so they have to take advantage of the opportunity whenever it presents itself and regardless of the circumstances involved.
