I really hope that we go UP instead of DOWN.

This is the time when we know if Butch is our coach or not. How will we play mentally now???

I don't think driving the ball down the field and taking the lead but losing in overtime can be compared with not being able to put 11 men on the field. Not to mention that game was uglier than a fat woman naked.

I'm talking about the TURNING POINT of a season. With Dooley, we went downhill mentally. With Butch? It's unknown.

Lets just see what this team does now. I think they suck it up and do some damage the rest of the season.
One other thing every recruit that thought the Vols were done are thinking a bit differently tonight.

Gotcha, he has given us every reason to believe that he is a motivator. I will be surprised if he doesn't find a way to use this game as proof to the team that they can beat anybody. The realists on here are fond of sticking purely with the numbers because there is such a high probability that they will be right. The coach's job is to make our team believe they can achieve the impossible. So far, CBJ seems to have a good handle on the psychological aspects of winning football.

Go Vols!

I think we are in the same boat as we were then, almost got a huge win and still dont know who we have as a coach yet.

This time the mental lapse was on the WR instead of the HC

Anyone who thinks Pig Howard had a "mental lapse" because his arm got hit and he fumbled in a microsecond of a play while diving for the endzone, giving his absolute all to potentially win the game and change the national perception of the University of Tennessee....is just blind.

Butch isn't Dooley. He won't let these kids give up. Plus they really seem to actually love Butch.

These kids buy watch Butch is selling. There is no quit in these kids and thats why we are lucky to have Butch and his staff

Huge difference between that near-win against LSU and this near-win. LSU played terrible in that game on the offensive side, and still managed to pull it off, in spite of Les Miles trying to lose the game every way possible. It wasn't actually all that exciting of a game; just looked like two clueless teams on offense, and UT managed to stay ahead till very late.

You can check the write-up on ESPN still: LSU 16-14. It focuses more on LSU's terrible play than anything.

This Georgia offense is probably in the top 5 in the nation (behind Oregon, Florida State, and maybe a few others). Georgia played a good game, making very few mistakes (aside from the punt block). Our D (in spite of being overmatched) played spectacular against them. Our offense struggled a bit too much in the first half, but really came through in the second.

I can't see this game as a fluke. Georgia has been playing lights-out for the past few weeks, and they came into Knoxville ready. It's just that our guys played great. They've gotten better every single week.
