“I really wanted to go to UT,” Hurd said. “Last year, they weren’t in such a good position for me to go there, but with Coach (Butch) Jones and the new staff, I think it’s the best place for me to go.”

Telling quote IMO. That's two stud recruits Hurd and TKJ that echoed the same statement.

I "Hurd" it through the grapevine. btw.........

:fireworks: :3cheers: :baloon:

Every in state prospect should have Jalen's infectious attitude , attending Vols games growing up proves the young man was raised right. For natives there should be none other than Tennessee . Jalen will be a most excellent Vol, welcome to your extended family.

“I’m going to be beating down the doors of other recruits, letting them know the reasons why I committed, why Wharton and Kelly committed and why they should commit, too,” Hurd said. “I hope that my decision will help others see that Tennessee is going to be a team they will want to play for.”

This right here is just awesome great news for all TN Vols fans. I can't imagine a 6'3" 230# running back at TN. This is even better than when Jamal Lewis signed w/TN & we all know how that situation turned out. Great News to have for a Thursday.

Hurd said it was more about being able to help recruit other players to Tennessee than eliminating a distraction.

“I want to be able to help get other players to come be a part of the ‘rise and grind,’” Hurd said. “Coach Jones believes in getting the best from this state to come to Knoxville. His philosophy is, ‘If you’re not getting the best players from your own state, how can you expect guys from other states to come here?’ I want to be a part of Tennessee’s uprising.”

I’m proud to be able to call him my head coach and be a part of Tennessee’s uprising.”

OK, I'm wet. GBO!!!

He's up to 232?! If he can keep his speed at that weight he is going to be crazy. I can't even think of a height/weight comparison at RB; maybe like a taller Adrian Peterson.

Folks...This is absolutely awesome news...When I saw him rush for almost 300 yds. in the state championship game last year, I said then that only Jamal compared to this unbelievable athlete...I, like all VFL, am out of my mind happy...The best is yet to come - I sincerely believe this....
