Byron Young, DE, Tennessee
  • Young was dominant as No. 8 Tennessee shut down No. 25 LSU by a score of 40-13, representing the Vols' largest margin of victory on the road vs. a ranked opponent since defeating No. 12 Alabama 41-14 in Birmingham on Oct. 14, 1995.
  • He collected a career-best 2.5 sacks and tied his career high with 2.5 tackles for loss, while finishing with five total tackles and five total QB pressures according to Pro Football Focus.
  • Young's 2.5 sacks were the most by an SEC player this week and tied for the most by any SEC player in a game all season (Anderson, Alabama; Domenick, Arkansas).
  • The 2.5 sacks were also the most by a Vol in a game since 2020.
  • Young and the Vols limited the Tigers to a season-low 55 yards rushing.

So all his tackles were either sacks or TFLs? Thats elite level DL play.

Serious question:
since all "Sacks" come behind the line of scrimmage, then they must be TFL's right? If BY had 2.5 sacks then he automatically had 2.5 TFL's, is this a correct statement? Or did he have 2.5 sacks and 2.5 TFL's for a total of 5 "Stops" behind the line of scrimmage?

This is definitely one case where I do NOT want to see any "Young on Young" action. I'm hoping that Byron is laying the wood to a backup QB all night and Bryce stays safe on the sidelines.

I believe the sacks were counted as TFL’s.
